ChristiansNet is a CommUnity Project. It may be the only real site of it's kind in the world, and will require many Virtual cofounders if it is to become all it was intended to be. ChristiansNet has hundreds of Christian Information Pages, but it needs thousands. Our Church directories list thousands of Christian churches, ministries, and schools, but they need tens of thousands. Our chat rooms can service hundreds of users, but we must service thousands. Our Lord is always speaking in our minds; see the larger picture, and don't think small anymore. No amount of money could pay for all the workers and services required to fulfill this Monumental Task, but as a World Wide CommUnity effort, the hearts and efforts of thousands will make it real.
Constance and I have spent the last three years building a platform and supporting structure strong enough to support the commUnity project. Thousands of dollars have been spent and much more will be throughout the program. While we have been able to use our own funds combined with income from WWCOL to support ChristiansNet, the costs continue to climb. It is our hope that WWCOL will continue to grow and the funds needed to support Christians On the Net will always be there. We wish to continue to be able to filter the businesses we deal with, and control the advertising we host through our servers. To do this we will need more clients and supporters that need websites that do not promote or support items or lifestyles that we believe go against our Christian teachings. While it is true we could focus on large accounts or donations and pay persons to do all the work, it would never become what it is intended to be. This commUnity is not about the easy way, or about jobs and money. It is about people, and the talents and gifts we have inside us. The trials, errors, and challenges that make us as individuals grow and to have a means by which we can each share our knowledge, viewpoints and passion with the world. It is about an idea, that a single website can be designed, maintained, and supported, by people all over the world, and flourish because of the differences and ideas we have. Focusing on the one thing we have in common, we are in reality of One Mind and One Body, serving in our own ways, One God, though His Son Jesus Christ.
The call is going out, and many, including you, are spreading the word that there is a commUnity where any Child of God can be at home . . . where any Child of God can serve side by side with True Visionaries, Servants, Builders, and yes, even Warriors . . . where any Child of God can know they are a part of a major operation that one day will make a difference . . . where there are all denominations, yet no denominations, all races, yet no races, all minds, yet one mind, speaking in different words, but one similar message. Only God can make this real, but it takes you to make it happen.
No matter who you are, or what skills you have been given, there is something YOU can do. Maybe you do not have time to spend, but you meet people on a regular basis. Maybe you do not have Design Skills, but you know a fellow student who does, or you work for someone who may need a website, or your local church may be ready to go online now too. The Body is made of many parts, each doing what it was intended to do, yet all working together to function as the whole
