Delivered by John Paul Jackson, Delivered at the ‘Releasing of Eagles Conference’ November 10, 2006

We must conquer the enemy within.

God’s promised to Abraham that the nation will overcome ten nations. Genesis 15:1-21

What we do to over come

  1. There is a time frame
  2. Other people are involved to overcome

First Abraham, then Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph

Joseph was sold into slavery. The fruit of his brothers action was that Joseph’s brothers and their families lived in slavery in Egypt for 400 years.

Jacob and his family moved to Egypt with 70 people. 400 years later approximately 2.5 million people left Egypt to start the nation of Israel.

Destroy the inhabitants of the land before you. Numbers 33

God gave the land to Israel to possess. The land is important

We are to conquer that which seems mightier that us. We are to overcome

Accomplishing the realization of God’s promises

Deuteronomy 7 Moses wrote… “When the LORD your God brings you into the land which you go to possess, and has cast out many nations before you, … seven nations greater and mightier than you, 2 and when the LORD your God delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them. 3 Nor shall you make marriages with them. You shall not give your daughter to their son, nor take their daughter for your son. 4 For they will turn your sons away from following Me, to serve other gods; so the anger of the LORD will be aroused against you and destroy you suddenly. 5 But thus you shall deal with them: you shall destroy their altars, and break down their sacred pillars, and cut down their wooden images, and burn their carved images with fire.”

  • We need to drive out, to overcome obstacles to reach the promises
  • Remove engraved stones, memories so that you can forgive
  • Remove idols, things that comfort you other than God
  • Tear down high places, the things that you see far off, negative things
  • Remove the inhabitants, the mental strongholds
  • Provisions that God has give to you

The aid, the task, the reward and the intervention

Exodus 23:20-22 “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. 21 Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him. 22 But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.

The angels of heaven will work with you. Follow the protocol of angels, obey them because they have the name of God in Him.

What you fear you empower

We are created for a purpose. It will not be easy. Acts 17:26-28

The task – Utterly overthrow. Do not leave anything

The reward – blessings, sickness removed, send fear before you

The intervention – God sent His angel

Exodus 23:29-30 I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. 30 Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land.

It will take time

Evil attacks leaders through their pride. Moses was the most humble man on earth

God wants you to succeed. The enemy wants you to fail

Numbers 13:25-28, 30-33 And they returned from spying out the land after forty days.
26 Now they departed and came back to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of
Israel in the Wilderness …; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. 27 Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28 Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; … 30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” 31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.” 32 And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. 33 There we saw the giants …and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”

Six points of a bad report:

  1. We are not able to go
  2. They are stronger than us
  3. The land devours its inhabitants
  4. All there are men of men of great stature
  5. There are giants there
  6.  We are small in our own sight

Number 14:1-5, 10 So all the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night. 2 And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, “If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! 3 Why has the LORD brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?4 So they said to one another, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.”5 Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel. 10 And all the congregation said to stone them with stones

Six human solutions

  1. They all cried
  2. They complained against Moses and the leaders
  3. It would be better to die in Egypt or the wilderness
  4. Let us return to Egypt
  5. Let us get new leaders
  6. Let’s stone them

Numbers 14:6-9 But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes; 7 and they spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. 8 If the LORD delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’ 9 Only do not rebel against the LORD, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the LORD is with us. Do not fear them.”

Ten godly responses from Joshua and Caleb

  1. Go at once and take possession , we are able to overcome them
  2. The land is good
  3. The Lord delights in us (remove sin from us, God cannot endorse our sin)
  4. He will bring us into the land
  5. Do not rebel against God
  6. Do not fear people
  7. They are our bread
  8. Their protection has departed from them
  9. The Lord is with us
  10. Do not fear them

Their fear cost them 40 more years in the wilderness and the loss of their destiny

The next generation returned to the Promised Land to fulfill the lost destiny of previous generation. Joshua 4

Learn how to fight again. God brings us battles.

Life is in the blood. Their blood cries out form the ground. Aborted babies cried out from within the walls of Jericho. Do not shed blood

Faith is the belief that something invisible and good will happen

Fear is the belief that something invisible and bad will happen

Genesis 15:18-21 On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates— 19 the Kenites, the Kenezzites, the Kadmonites, 20 the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, 21 the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.”

We all face ten battles we must conquer to walk in our full destiny. What are your successes and failures in these ten battles? As you succeed in these trials you move toward the fulfillment of your destiny.

Be diligent in your pursuit of Christ

As we conquer we give the next generation a higher starting point.

No one escapes tests. For your to reach the purposes for which you were created you will have to overcome them.

The sins of the father are passed down 4 generations. Your destiny, your DNA can be changed. You do not want your children to struggle with what you struggled with.

John Paul shared his throne room experience in May 12, 1995

A lamp was behind him and the Lord was before him

He was aware of every cell in his body all at the same time. This was a demonstration that God knows all things all at the same time about the total universe. Five things that he learned.

  1. God is intricately involved in your life
  2. God will send His angels to help you reach your purpose
  3. Have a mindset that you will meet your purpose
  4. God really wants you to achieve your purpose. You are here for a purpose. He wants to help you.
  5. God will move heaven and earth to move you to where He want to get you to where you should be, if you are where He wants you to be.
