CENTRAL FLORIDA PRAYER WALL VISION
Just before the September 2000
Pray Central Florida meeting the Lord asked me (George Kern) to draw some
vertical lines on the white board in our meeting room. Then He said draw some
horizontal lines. He asked me what I saw. I said it looked like part of a
calendar. He said to finish drawing the calendar (one month). He asked me again
what I saw. This time it looked like a wall so I said that. The Lord said He
wants to raise up a prayer wall around Central Florida. Please note that when I
say God spoke to me I don’t mean an audible voice but I heard the specific
words in my heart and mind as clear as if He had spoken them out loud. I
believe the calendar means a monthly prayer schedule. I have since shared this
at another prayer meeting and the leader had a sense that the churches in
Central Florida were the towers on the wall. On November 27th I
sensed that it was time to begin and that our first prayer focus was to be the
follow up after the Jesus Video distribution December 11th through
16th. This focus will continue for six months because the follow up
efforts will continue for the first few months of 2001 and studies indicate
that people will watch the video for many months after the distribution. We want to under
gird the telephone and personal visit follow-ups to bring as much of the
harvest into the store-houses as possible.
Normally when one thinks of a
wall it is for protection. There is an element of protection in this wall but
with it’s evangelism focus, it is also a siege wall. We (the Church) are laying
siege to the kingdom of darkness which holds so many captive in this city “and
the gates of
hell shall not prevail against it” (Matt. 16:18). Through prayer we are
participating with the Father in breaking down spiritual walls that are keeping
people from Christ so Jesus can set them free. Ezekiel 4:1-3 and Jeremiah 52:4
talk about a siege wall and Nehemiah chapters 1 through 6 chronicle the
rebuilding of the wall around Jerusalem.
To take your place on the wall please
contact me with your name, the name of your church or ministry (if you are not
in a position to represent your organization, please get permission first), the
day your group will pray and your contact information, including E-mail if
possible. You don’t need to commit to any number of people or hours your group
will cover, just make a good effort to encourage your people to pray on that
day. You may sign up for more than one day a month if you wish but please not
more than one day a week. I will send you a few specific prayer points when you
sign up and a calendar showing when each group is praying. You are also asked
to pray for a few of the other churches or ministries who are praying on your
week. We started December 11th, the first day of the distribution
and will continue through May of 2001. This is only a six month commitment and
can take as little as 10 minutes one day a month, though you may want to take
longer to more thoroughly cover the prayer points. The real power in this comes
from the united prayer of the church in Central Florida focused on the same
objective, so take your place on the wall!
