PRAY CENTRAL
FLORIDA
Dear
Fellow Prayer Warrior, February,
2006
Greetings in the name of the Lord. Praise
God for the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Alito.
We are blessed to have some very significant city-wide events coming up. The
Purpose Driven Life starts the week of February 12th and the Luis
Palau Festival is April 1st and 2nd.
Florida Constitution Marriage
Amendment Update
There
were not enough petitions turned in to get the amendment on the 2006 ballot.
611,009 were needed and 455,730 came in. The petitions remain valid through
2008 so the effort will continue in order to get the remaining 155,000
petitions to be on the 2008 ballot. www.florida4marriage.org.
Purpose Driven Life – 10,000 groups forming all over
Central Florida
Rick Warren was at the TD
Waterhouse in November (along with a crowd of 10,000) to cast and fuel a vision
for thousands of small groups going through the Purpose Driven Life at the same
time. Hosts will gather believers and unbelievers in small groups throughout
the Orlando area to fellowship and look at "what on earth am I here
for?" After a 40-day study, they will join hands to reach out to friends
and neighbors through the Orlando Festival with Luis Palau. The groups will
begin meeting the week of February 12th. To get involved, call
407-894-4282, or visit www.purposeorlando.com.
Luis Palau Orlando Festival (April 1
and 2) prayer strategy and prayer points
There will be a big prayer
rally February 26th (6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Orangewood Presbyterian, 1300 West
Maitland Blvd., Maitland) and a 40 day prayer calendar
(available on the Pray Central Florida web site) but the ongoing prayer format
is shifting to many prayer clusters all over Central Florida. The leader of
each cluster will receive periodic prayer updates to share with the group. If
you would like to lead or join a prayer cluster in your area please call Pastor
Mark Daniel’s office at 407-846-8300. There is also a periodic Prayer Gram that
is E-mailed out to anyone who signs up by sending an E-mail to orlandofestival@palau.org. We have set up a “Blog” on
the Pray Central Florida web site (www.christiansnet.com/praycf/praycf.htm)
to record words from the Lord or prayer direction for the Festival.
Please e-mail submissions to George at praycf@juno.com.
Maureen will be coordinating on-site prayer so contact her for information or
to sign up – e-mail IPNCF@ruii.org or call 407-332-7286.
Counselor
training is going on this month and volunteers of all types are needed for the
festival. Visit their web site to find out more - www.orlandofestival.org.
Prayer points for the Luis Palau Orlando Festival:
1) The budget – most of the
money is in but there is still some to go.
2) The organizing team – pray a hedge of protection
around them, many are experiencing intense spiritual warfare. Also pray for
wisdom, favor with governmental agencies, businesses and churches, and strength
to keep doing their jobs with zeal.
3) That God’s church would
have His heart for the Greater Orlando area
4) That the church would come
together in unity during this time
5) That the spiritual leaders
in the city would come together in cooperation; that they would
set the tone for prayer and
unity in the city
6) That this would not be the
end, but the beginning of unity and transformation in our community

Orlando, an Altar for God
On Saturday, February 4th, we will be celebrating our fourth Orlando, an Altar for God meeting.
Since the beginning of 2005, Danilo Montero, Sigueme International and local churches of Central Florida have been gathering to lift an altar for God. The first meeting took place at Orlando Baptist Church; the second one was at Freedom Tabernacle in Kissimmee and the third one in Bethel Church in Orlando.
Worship Ministers like Danilo Montero, Eric Perdomo, Charlie Hernandez and other ministers and pastors were with us during those worship nights.
We believe that this is the time for a spiritual “makeover” in Orlando and Central Florida, a place that has been an icon of illusion, magic, entertainment and division.
We feel it is time to unite as one to worship God by lifting an altar of repentance that will bring the grace and mercy of God, as well as opening the heavens for God’s presence to rain down as never before.
It is the desire of our hearts to join forces among Hispanic and American churches to prepare the land for Gods visitation.
This is why Danilo Montero and Sigueme International invite you once again to raise an altar for God.
The fourth meeting will be held on:
Day: Saturday, February 4th, 2006
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Place: 2500 W Oak Ridge Rd, Orlando Fl. 32809
(El Calvario Church)
We invite all the pastors and congregations to come join us for this cry out to God.
Thank you for your consideration and we will be honored if you attend this event.

(9) Seek God for the City 2006
This year Steve Hawthorne has brought
forth different themes and Scriptures from last year's edition to focus prayers
for these amazing days of harvest and hope. The prayers are organized around
the classic themes of hope, such as awakening, transformation, and, best of
all, God's visitation.
The topics are fresh, relevant, and
biblical. In drastic times such as these, people are looking for hope that has
substance.
Some features of
Seek God for the City 2006
·
Strengthens what
you are already doing. No complicated
program to organize or meetings to schedule.
·
Unites prayer
throughout your church. An
attractive, easy-to-use tool that can help
unite prayers between many churches throughout an entire community.
·
Lift prayer from
private or trivial matters. Helps your
people learn to pray for what matters most by directing attention toward what
God is doing in the lives of people throughout your community.
·
Builds the
confidence of everyday believers that they can
pray with clarity, authority, and relevance as they learn to pray in keeping
with Scripture. Involves everyone in your church family, not just a “prayerful
elite.”
·
Opens a great
way to pray toward Easter. For those of
liturgical streams, it augments the Lenten season with a marvelous blend of
repentance and intercessory hope. Those of other streams find that it lifts
attention toward Christ's visitation at Palm Sunday. The calendar concludes on
Palm Sunday, leaving everyone prepared for Easter week without crowding the
schedule with extra activity.
Two Special
Versions
·
A special
Children's Companion Version is available
online at no cost, opening another vital way of uniting prayer. This guide is
in six weekly installments of .PDF files to download and photocopy. A great way
for families to pray together. See www.waymakers.org.
·
A Spanish
translation of Seek God for the City 2006 is available at
no cost as a .PDF file to download from www.waymakers.org.
Two Things to
Consider
·
Cost—The booklet is modestly priced at $3.00 per copy. With bulk
discounts, it is even more affordable. One important factor: people use what
they value and they value what they pay for. By encouraging people to offer a
donation of one to three dollars for a copy, you'll find that they will
participate more fully and your costs will usually be more than covered.
·
Timing—The forty-day season of prayer begins Wednesday, March 1,
2006. That means that the best times for distribution in churches are
going to be on two Sundays: February 19 and February 26. Although we can
usually deliver last-minute orders in a timely way, we urge you to order as
early as possible in December and January. Call 1-800-264-5214 for quickest
order processing.

THE SECOND CHANCE, starring MICHAEL W.
SMITH, JEFF OBAFEMI CARR and directed by STEVE TAYLOR is a new movie from Sony
Pictures opening in 35 cities nationwide on February 17, 2006. . The film tells
the story of a white church in a wealthy suburb
that discovers its "outreach" to an inner-city black congregation is
creating resentment and distrust. This is the story of how a rebellious son and
a street-smart pastor attempt to bridge the gap between their churches and
their cultures.
Tony Compolo
on the movie
"To
say that I enjoyed the film is a vast understatement. I resonated
with what I saw in this great piece of work. Anyone who has ever had a
ministry in an inner city over an extended period of time,
has
encountered just about every one of the situations that came out in the
film." --TONY CAMPOLO

(12) Translation
of Latest Bin Laden Tape - The Rest of the Story

Subject: Translation of Latest Bin Laden Tape - The Rest of the Story
Below is
a posting from my friend Lee Roy. He is a missionary to muslims both domestic and
internationally. I have been on his intercessor base ever since I met him
years ago at a missions conference. He
communicates well with his prayer base, and offers insight that is not readily
available elsewhere. Below is his latest posting to the
intercessors. I thought, with the immediacy of the latest Bin Laden
escapades, this would be beneficial to our subscribers.
Please
read this posting prayerfully, and pray as the Lord
directs. It is critical to continue in prayer, and not slack. Much
hangs in the balance in this season!
Richest
blessings to you all....

Arabic television recently played a tape from
Osama bin Laden. I
read the whole transcript to see what he really
said about a truce. Here
is the relevant quote:
"We don't mind offering you a long-term truce on
fair conditions that we
adhere to. We are a nation that God has forbidden
to lie and cheat.
[Really?] So both sides can enjoy security and
stability under this
truce so we can
build Iraq and Afghanistan, which have been
destroyed in this war.... If
you
(Americans) are sincere in your desire for peace
and security, we have
answered you."
Here I would just like to share with you the
strict Islamic teaching
about truces. This is important because the
jihadists follow strict
Islamic teaching. First, it is prohibited to make
a permanent peace
treaty
with infidels (any non-Islamic nation). Secondly,
it is permitted to
make a
truce (temporary cessation of hostilities) when
that would be strategic
toward long term victory, but the longest term
permitted is 10 years,
and it is permitted to break the truce at any
time by alleging a failure
by the infidels to keep every detail as Muslims
interpret it. (Witness
Hamas' truce with Israel.)
So what he is actually doing is issuing a
threat that if we do not
leave
the jihadist type Muslims (his type) to regroup
and strengthen their
organization, that they will keep blowing up
infrastructure and
assassinating moderate Muslims in the nations he
mentions, and
continue his plans for terror strikes in the USA.
Of course if there
were a
truce, he and his type of Muslims would regroup,
use Iraq and
Afghanistan as safe havens, and at their
convenience declare the truce
broken and perpetrate more terrorist attacks in
the USA (and Europe)
from a position of strength.
That is my understanding of his "offer" based
on what I have read
about Islamic law, and their authoritative
traditions, and their
history. It is orthodox
view of Islam that it is both the DUTY and
DESTINY of Muslims to
impose Islamic law on the whole world (via
preaching, propaganda,
political pressure, and, where necessary,
military action). That is
their version of the
Great Commission. (Our version is, "Go ye into
all the world and preach
the gospel (good news) to every creature." Mark
16:15 KJV -- preach, not
impose, and gospel, not law.)
Note to intercessors: Do SPIRITUAL warfare,
first for the conversion
to Christ by both radical and moderate Muslims,
and secondly for
righteousness and revival in the USA and other
western democracies so
that we may have
God's protection.

CHINA: HOW 12 YEAR OLD RESCUED 3000
MINERS
China is one of the nations in which God most often gives his
followers
the privilege of experiencing suffering and
persecution - but also
absolutely breathtaking miracles and demonstrations
of His presence.
Although Western Christianity has spent a lot of energy to prove
that
you can have the one without the other, it is
generally the combination
of
the cross AND resurrection, suffering AND
God's triumph which have
the longest-lasting effect on a nation. Asia
Harvest's Paul and Joy
Hattaway report about another of these
experiences:
As another wave of persecution swept through China in the 1950's,
pastor Li was arrested in the southern province
Guangdong. He was
convicted of "counter-revolutionary activities"
and sentenced to work
in an iron ore mine in farthest
north-eastern China. Li's wife and
five children, including a new-born baby, had
no other means of
support; they decided to join pastor Li on his
2,000-mile journey to
Heilongjiang, where they would perhaps be able to visit him
occasionally, and would be close by should he be
miraculously released.
They sold everything they owned and bought tickets for the
week-long
rail journey. When they arrived, they used old
boards and a tarpaulin
to build a rickety hut on the road to the labour camp. Pastor
Li
worked as a slave for 14 hours every day, with
miserable food, in
temperatures well below freezing. He died after three
months.
When the family heard the news, they were desperate and deeply
depressed. His wife saw no future, and wanted to
die. She neglected the
children terribly. Finally, she told the children
that she would have
to look for a job. The eldest daughter said
"No, mother, you cannot go
to work. The baby needs you. He cries for
you the whole day long. I
will go to work."
The 12-year-old girl went to the Director of the labour camp, and told
him "My father was sent to this
God-forsaken place because of his love
for Jesus Christ. That was his only crime. He
was a good man, who loved
people and helped them. Now he is dead, and we
have no food, no money
and no place to live. We can't even return to
the south. I would like
to know whether there is some work I could
do in the camp."
The Director remembered pastor Li, and recognised
the girl as his
daughter. He gave in to the tiny glimmer of
compassion in his heart,
and said "I have a job for you, but it
is boring, and pays badly." She
took the job immediately.The
Director took her to the place where 3,000
prisoners worked in the iron ore mine. He asked her
"Do you see that
red button? Your job is to stand next to the
button all day, and if
someone tells you to press it, you must do so
immediately. That is the
alarm button, which sets off a siren deep
underground. When they hear
the siren, the miners get out as fast as they
can. You must never press
the button by accident, but only when one of
us tell you to." So little
Sister Li stood next to the button day after day, week after week.
She
and her family were overjoyed when she was
paid for the first time,
although it was only a few dollars.
One afternoon, she suddenly heard a voice saying "Press the
button!"
She turned around, trying to find out who had spoken, but there
was
nobody there. She heard the same voice again a
few moments later,
saying "Quickly! Press the button,
now!" There was still nobody to be
seen, and she started to think she was losing
her mind. She should
only press the button in an emergency, and
everything looked normal.
Seconds later, she heard the voice again, saying "Sister Li,
press the
button, now!" with great urgency. Only then did she realise
that it
was her Lord speaking to her. She did not
understand why she should
press the button, but she knew she had to obey.
The siren sounded, and
3,000 men came up to the surface as fast as they could, confused
and
curious to find out what had happened.
The Director came running out of his office, demanding to know why
she
had pressed the button. Only a few moments
after the last prisoner had
left the mine, the area was shaken by a large
earthquake. The whole
mine collapsed, and nobody has been able to
return to it to this day.
An eerie silence spread when the earthquake was over, everyone
looking
at the fragile figure who had pressed the
red button. Finally, the
Director managed to ask "Comrade Li, how... how did you know
that you
had to press the red button?" Li answered as loud as she could, saying
"The Lord Jesus Christ told me to press the red button. He
told me
three times before I did it. Jesus Christ is the only way you can come
to know the true and living God. He loves you, and has just
demonstrated his love by saving your lives. You must
turn from your
sins and give your lives to him!" All
3,000 prisoners and the director
knelt and prayed that Jesus would forgive them
and come to live in
their hearts.

CHINESE CHURCH GROWS FROM 70 TO 5000 MEMBERS IN 3 YEARS
If a Western church grew from 70 to 5,000 members in only three
years,
the Christian media would be all over
it. In China, though, churches
are experiencing growth considered almost
unprecedented in the West.
Here's one report:"Guangxi is a
province in south-western China, on the
Vietnamese border. The city of Guilin,
with its unusual cliffs, has
become a symbol of China's beauty," reports
Dennis Balcombe, leader of
Hong Kong's Revival Christian Church. Spiritually, though, Guangxi
was
until recently a desert. Idol worship was the normal religion, and
the few Christians could not imagine revival.
Now, though, the light of the Gospel is burning brightly, and the
churches are growing rapidly. Only 3 years ago, a house church in one
region had 70 members; today, it has 5,000! The
movement is led by a
middle-aged couple; he is a simple and uncomplicated
man, she a strong
character and conscientious. They were both
expelled from the state
church in 1998, so started a house church, where
they met, sitting on
the floor in simple surroundings. Signs and
wonders started to happen:
the lame walked, the deaf heard, and people
were healed of cancer.
Everyone in the area recognised the
believers' love for one another.
An elderly Christian woman in Sichuan Province became sick and
died.
Three days after her funeral, the Holy Spirit revealed to another
Christian that the dead woman had just
returned from Eternity. The
woman hurried to the cemetery with her
relatives and the church leader.
They opened the coffin and saw the dead woman return to life. The
woman
continually told of how God had raised her from the
dead from that time
on until she again went to be with Jesus
some years later.
Through her testimony, many came to faith and remained staunch
under
persecution. That church grew the fastest of any in
the region.
