PRAY CENTRAL
FLORIDA
Dear
Fellow Prayer Warrior, September, 2006
Greetings
in the name of the Lord. There are some
great opportunities for corporate prayer and worship this month, check them out
on page 2. Should a government leader’s personal beliefs influence their public
policy? The accounts of Joseph and Daniel (among many others) demonstrate that
they should. They also demonstrate that when those are Godly beliefs then God
blesses not just the leader but also the people who the leader represents. We
have a responsibility to do the research, invest the prayer and hear from God
who to vote for. To help us with that, the Florida Family Policy Council has
provided a voter guide for the 2006 Primary Governor's Race. In their words “This
is a thoroughly documented, side by side comparison of all the gubernatorial
candidates and where they stand on moral and social issues”. For a PDF version
click:
http://209.151.145.52/uploadfile/upload/Voter%20Guide%20-Final%20(10).pdf
. “Please download this document, save it to your computer and then e-mail it
to all of your friends and family. This
voter guide has been approved by our lawyers to be promoted and distributed by
churches and other non profit 501(c)(3) organizations.” The above is from John
Stemberger, President of the Florida Family Policy Counsel, www.FLfamily.org. They also have a judicial
voter guide on their site.

THE FURNACE
The Furnace is calling for Pray-ers
It's amazing how the Lord has arranged the first weekend of each
month to harmonize 25 segments of worship teams for a full 36 hours. Every
month we are awestruck with God's beauty and goodness as we experience unity among
believers.
Now we want to know who can plow in prayer! We are calling for
those who can plow in prayer, or who want to grow in plowing. It's a unique
thrill. We are asking the Lord for teams of pray-
ers who will commit to engaging in corporate prayer for some of the segments.
We have schedule openings for those who have been wanting a place to pray, and
haven't been able to find it.
What is your prayer burden, or your prayer passion? It can be
fulfilled at The Furnace. Email Sharon Gonzales or Virginia Sullivent to be included.

Subject: Invitation
Dear Marketplace Leaders:
Sometimes it can get rather lonely trying to
cope with the challenges of marketplace. As new levels of awareness are
being directed toward the importance of believers placed in this area, it
can become a swirl of information as to our potential and where we land in the
mix. To help establish your mindsets and find direction, Lion's Roar International is
partnering with business professionals who understand the trends and how they
associate with Christian endeavors for changing times. Whether you are
just beginning in the marketplace, well established with enterprenural
background, or a business professional with years of experience, you're welcome! Perhaps you
will have something special to share during the discussion time that will add
valuable flavor to the mix and lend support to others.
Our purpose in offering these pilot groups are
two-fold: 1) To establish a
foundation in the city for moving into a harvest mentality; 2) To support
those of you already in the labor force and assist you in advancing your
call. An added incentive for these groups will be to consider
making them available after the first of the year as ongoing encouragement and
backing. Your participation will help make the decision.
If you are interested in support, please review
the attached flyer [editor’s note – the information from the attachment is
pasted below this letter] and RSVP ASAP.
Please feel free to ask questions regarding the sessions which, by the way, are
free....no fee for any of the sessions. You can sign up for one, two,
three, or all but we ask that you DO
respond so we can properly prepare.
We look forward to partnering with you for
affecting the city through your gift.

Prayer Groups --
This may seem early, but the time may
be needed in getting the word out! --Please consider sharing this material with your people.
Info to subscribe through the link is below... feel free to direct
your prayer groups to it. My
apologies if you rec'd this from an additional source. I am joining
others in trying to get the info to many groups this year.
In light of what is going on in the world
right now, prayer for this people group is much needed. Many do
not understand the Muslim world. For several years now, I
have joined this group in praying during Ramadan. Ron Kernahan
and his group do a wonderful job of helping
others to pray with understanding for the Muslim world. The dates are Sept. 24th through Oct. 23rd, 2006.
Thank you for helping to get out the word.
--May many heed the call to pray for the Muslim world...

(7) Guidelines for Political
Activities by Churches
PASTORS AND CHURCHES CAN DO A LOT PRIOR TO
ELECTION DAY
Legal experts say that
church leaders have wide latitude
Let us earnestly pray that godly pro-life and
pro- marriage candidates be selected, supported, protected and find favor with
the voters.
On Tuesday, November 7,
U.S. voters will elect on entire House of Representatives, one third of the
Senate, many Governors, and scores of local and state officials. They will also
cast votes on referenda of historic importance, such as same-sex marriage, etc.
Many pastors, churches and nonprofit groups may be wondering about the legal
limits of their involvement in the political process. Legal experts state that
pastors and churches have wide latitude in terms of their involvement. Pastors
are free to talk about key issues of the day, urge people to vote with a
biblical worldview, and may encourage them to be involved in the political
process. The only area of involvement that is specifically prohibited is that
of advocating for or against specific candidates.
In addition, in order to dispel fear from many groups’ efforts to “gag” the
voice of Bible-believing Christians in a critical election year, the James
Madison Center for Free Speech has posted “Do’s and Don’ts for Political
Activities of Pastors” and “Guidelines for Political Activities by Churches and
Pastors” on its Web site, www.jamesmadisoncenter.org.

1. ISRAEL BECAME A STATE AROUND 1312 BCE, TWO MILLENNIA BEFORE
ISLAM;
2. ARAB REFUGEES FROM ISRAEL BEGAN CALLING THEMSELVES
"PALESTINIANS" IN 1967, TWO DECADES AFTER (MODERN) ISRAELI STATEHOOD;
3. AFTER CONQUERING THE LAND IN 1272 BCE, JEWS RULED IT FOR A
THOUSAND YEARS AND MAINTAINED A CONTINUOUS PRESENCE THERE FOR 3,300 YEARS;
4. THE ONLY ARAB RULE FOLLOWING CONQUEST IN 633 CE LASTED JUST 22
YEARS;
5. FOR OVER 3,300 YEARS, JERUSALEM WAS THE JEWISH CAPITAL. IT WAS
NEVER THE CAPITAL OF ANY ARAB OR MUSLIM ENTITY. EVEN UNDER JORDANIAN RULE,
(EAST) JERUSALEM WAS NOT MADE THE CAPITAL, AND NO ARAB LEADER CAME TO VISIT IT;
6. JERUSALEM IS MENTIONED OVER 700 TIMES IN THE BIBLE, BUT NOT ONCE
IS IT MENTIONED IN THE QUR'AN;
7. KING DAVID FOUNDED JERUSALEM; MOHAMMED NEVER SET FOOT IN IT;
8. JEWS PRAY FACING JERUSALEM; MUSLIMS FACE MECCA. IF THEY ARE
BETWEEN THE TWO CITIES, MUSLIMS PRAY FACING MECCA, WITH THEIR BACKS TO
JERUSALEM;
9. IN 1948, ARAB LEADERS URGED THEIR PEOPLE TO LEAVE, PROMISING TO
CLEANSE THE LAND OF JEWISH PRESENCE. 68% OF THEM FLED WITHOUT EVER SETTING EYES

DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED AS MEMBERS OF THE KNESSET, THE ISRAELI PARLIAMENT;
11. VIRTUALLY THE ENTIRE JEWISH POPULATION OF MUSLIM COUNTRIES HAD
TO FLEE AS THE RESULT OF VIOLENCE AND POGROMS;
12. SOME 630,000 ARABS LEFT ISRAEL IN 1948, WHILE CLOSE TO A
MILLION JEWS WERE FORCED TO LEAVE THE MUSLIM COUNTRIES;
13. IN SPITE OF THE VAST TERRITORIES AT THEIR DISPOSAL, ARAB
REFUGEES WERE DELIBERATELY PREVENTED FROM ASSIMILATING INTO THEIR HOST
COUNTRIES. OF 100 MILLION REFUGEES FOLLOWING WORLD WAR 2, THEY ARE THE ONLY
GROUP TO HAVE NEVER INTEGRATED WITH THEIR CORELIGIONISTS. MOST OF THE JEWISH
REFUGEES FROM EUROPE AND ARAB LANDS WERE SETTLED IN ISRAEL , A COUNTRY NO
LARGER THAN NEW JERSEY;
14. THERE ARE 22 MUSLIM COUNTRIES, NOT COUNTING PALESTINE . THERE
IS ONLY ONE JEWISH STATE. ARABS STARTED ALL FIVE WARS AGAINST ISRAEL, AND LOST
EVERY ONE OF THEM;
15. FATAH AND HAMAS CONSTITUTIONS STILL CALL FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF
ISRAEL. ISRAEL CEDED MOST OF THE WEST BANK AND ALL OF GAZA TO THE PALESTINIAN
AUTHORITY, AND EVEN PROVIDED IT WITH ARMS;
16. DURING THE JORDANIAN OCCUPATION, JEWISH HOLY SITES WERE
VANDALIZED AND WERE OFF LIMITS TO JEWS. UNDER ISRAELI RULE, ALL MUSLIM AND
CHRISTIAN HOLY SITES ARE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL FAITHS;
17. OUT OF 175 UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL RESOLUTIONS UP TO
1990, 97 WERE AGAINST ISRAEL; OUT OF 690 GENERAL ASSEMBLY RESOLUTIONS, 429 WERE
AGAINST ISRAEL;
18. THE U.N. WAS SILENT WHEN THE JORDANIANS DESTROYED 58 SYNAGOGUES
IN THE OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM IT REMAINED SILENT WHILE JORDAN SYSTEMATICALLY
DESECRATED THE ANCIENT JEWISH CEMETERY ON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES , AND IT REMAINED
SILENT WHEN JORDAN ENFORCED APARTHEID LAWS PREVENTING JEWS FROM ACCESSING THE
TEMPLE MOUNT AND WESTERN WALL.
THESE ARE HARD TIMES. WE MUST ASK OURSELVES WHAT WE SHOULD BE
DOING, AND WHAT WE WILL TELL OUR GRANDCHILDREN ABOUT OUR ACTIONS DURING THIS
CRISIS, WHEN WE HAD THE CHANCE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
PLEASE SEND THIS MESSAGE TO YOUR FRIENDS. JEWISH OR NOT, IT
DOES NOT MATTER. EVERYONE MUST KNOW!
