PRAY   CENTRAL   FLORIDA

Dear Fellow Prayer Warrior,                                                                           December, 2006

Greetings in the name of the Lord. Now that the elections are over there is a tendency to want to “take a break” or look for some more “fruitful ground” to pray into. On the contrary, our nation needs prayer now more than before the elections. It is appropriate to thank God for the many men and women who were elected that share our biblical stands on the issues. It is also the time to declare or decree righteousness over our state (particularly the Florida Supreme Court) and our nation.

The Nativity Story has just come out and the reviewers say it is a fantastic movie – true to the bible and an excellent production. Trailers are available on the movie web site www.thenativitystory.com.

Word of Thanks – I (George) want to thank each of you who have been praying for our Central Florida area. As I am writing this I have a sense that it is also a word of thanks to you from the Lord. He has said about some things “I will accomplish that if My people pray”. Many of you have prayed fervently for our area and God has heard your prayers and has acted and continues to act in response to them. I also have a sense that there is much more that the Father wants to do here and will do in response to continued and increased prayer. So please receive this as a word of thanks for what you have done, a challenge to increase the quality and/or quantity of your prayers in 2007 and a call to recruit others to join us in the task. By the way, if you question my theology about God doing something differently in response to prayer, check out the “If” in 2 Chronicles 7:14.

This newsletter goes to about 200 different churches including both the hard copy and e-mail versions. If you are one of the many church representatives who copy or forward it on to others in your church, ministry, and other churches, I want to thank you for that from the bottom of my heart. You also have my permission to use parts of it in your own publications, as some of you do now. I don’t care who gets the credit as long as the information gets out.

“Releasing of Eagles” transcripts – Peter has typed up his notes from two sessions of the “Releasing of Eagles” conference in Orlando last month. They are “Entering Your Destiny” and “Maximizing Heaven’s Help”, both by John Paul Jackson. You can see them on the Pray Central Florida web site.

Ongoing Prayer Themes - please include some of these when you pray for the city -

An increase in the manifestation of God’s supernatural power – healings, signs, wonders

Wisdom and blessing for our president and other national, state and local elected officials

God's redemptive purposes to be fulfilled in Central Florida

George,

--- You may already be aware of this group's activity.  They are somehow connected to Lou Engle and his intern program.  Would you ask others in our prayer network to pray for this group of young people who are determined to make a difference in our area?  They stand very quietly, but very strongly for the Lord.

I believe they will allow others to join them.  If you would like to find out more info or make plans to join them they can contact Adam at arg1986@yahoo.com

REMEMBER to pray for the team here in the Orlando area.  They hold their "STAND" every other Sat. night here in front of the Club Harem on Lee Rd. from 6 - 8 PM

Here are the dates, as they STAND here in Orlando for Pure Life:

December 2 & 16, 2006 --- 6:00 - 8:00 PM

January 6 & 20, 2007 ---  6:00 - 8:00 PM

If you are in the area make plans to STAND.  Contact Adam at arg1986@yahoo.com

Persistently prevailing,

Linda Bemis

Here is the note I got from Adam after I wrote to ask him for the info so that we could pray for their efforts.

Well praise God sure I can give you info. The easiest way to get the info to you is by giving you our MYSPACE/ Web site page. It has all our dates and of course all the wonderful stats. Matthew Starke gives out.  http://www.myspace.com/pureliferevolutionorlando

Let me say God is shifting things In Orlando - There is a great wrestling with Jezebel (everywhere you go there she is), But I know we can combat this spirit and see the break through. Last week our at our stand there was two billboards that God really used, 1 said "Where Babies come from", and the 2nd Said "EXIT". So far we have been greeted with Yelling and Cursing, but We know that we know we will see Jezebel dethroned and see the strippers fall in Love with Jesus. Please feel free to email me for more details anytime, we appreciate your prayers..

"a VICTORIOUS ARMY opposed to a routed one, is as a pound's weight placed in the scale against a single grain. The ONRUSH OF A CONQUERING FORCE is like the Bursting of PENT-UP WATERS INTO A CHASM A THOUSAND FATHOMS DEEP."...the same for the church!

THEIR VISION - Pure Life Revolution is committed to seeing entire cities and nations transformed by igniting a global purity movement. This is a prayer and repentance movement establishing purity, righteousness and justice in the church and society.

THE CALL - God is calling forth His holy army to march through the land and advance His kingdom. No longer can we tolerate the spiritual and moral decline of our society. Where is the moral outcry of our generation? We must not let the opportunity we have to further the Gospel pass us by. Now is the time to arise and shine for our light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen among us. Pure Life Revolution now!

WHO WE ARE - Pure Life Revolution is a coalition of churches, individuals and businesses committed to seeing entire cities and nations transformed for the purposes of God.  Together, through covenant relationship, we are igniting a global purity movement.

(4) Project Homeless Connect - Friday, December 8

From: "Steve  Bruton" <Steve.Bruton@northlandchurch.net>

Date: Tue, 28 Nov 2006 15:52:16 -0500

Subject: Project Homeless Connect Needs Volunteers

Dear Team:

I pray these days are finding everyone in a serving mood/mode. :-) I definitely do not want to guilt-trip anyone into going downtown Orlando to serve at Project Homeless Connect (next to the T.D. Waterhouse) on Friday, December 8 9 am to 3 pm. But I have to put this out there. For years, we have been challenging the City of Orlando to step up and do something, anything, to help the homeless. Well, they are!

I know you have seen my emails relative to Project Homeless Connect. On that day, Central Florida's homeless will be able to receive showers, haircuts, hot meals, toiletry bags, bus passes, I.D. cards, medical check-ups, eye check-ups, veterans assistance, clothes, job applications, housing referrals...and a whole lot more. As I have mentioned, the city fathers are doing their part. Its the church and the armies of compassion that we have yet to hear from. Seriously, we need some feet put to faith. We need another 100 volunteers to JUST SHOW UP! No experience necessary. We need folks to be shepherds and receive the homeless, make them feel welcomed and loved, hand out the goodies to them, direct them to our resources, and point them to Christ if given the opportunity.

If you can help next Friday, for even an hour or two, let me know. Better yet, contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Traci Blue, at traci.blue@cityoforlando.net or 407-246-2082. She will invite you to a training that is being held on Thursday, December 7 at 3 pm at the PHC site. But if you cannot make the training, its okay. JUST SHOW UP on Friday. We even have lunch and a spiffy T-shirt for you.

Our goal is to make this a monthly event. But we need to let the City of Orlando know that we are in there with them. We want to to be a part of the solution. Please phone or email me if you have any questions.

In His service,

Steve Bruton

 (5) Prayer for the Middle East – December 6

From: TBachnik@aol.com

Date: Mon, 27 Nov 2006 22:01:52 EST

Subject: PrayForTheTroops

Dear Intercessors:

This is short notice but a wonderful opportunity to pray:

For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostiltiy, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations.  his purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.  Eph 2:14-16

The children of Isaac and the children of Ishmael are dying without knowing the One who died to end their deadly hostility.

Let us come together as Christ's body now to pray for this one new man that He died for.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem...and all of the middle east

Wednesday, December 6 6:30 - 8:30pm

Please forward this email to anyone who carries this in their heart.

This Prayer meeting is called for Israel and the Middle East and we will pray for the troops and their safety as well.

We have been praying for a clear voice to come forth in our nation making the argument that this war, and winning it, is absolutely essential.  Lord we ask that a clear voice would be heard across this nation making known the consequences of defeat.  Beware of those crying peace peace...

Blessings, Greg

The First War of the Twenty-first Century
By: Dr. Michael D. Evans

America is fighting for its life in the first war of the 21st Century. The battle is, indeed, for the soul of America, and Ground Zero in this battle is Iraq.

According to the Koran, it was on a Tuesday that Allah created darkness. It is not necessary to consult a calendar to see what the date was when Islamo-fascists, with the cry “Allah Akbar,” crashed commercial planes into crowded buildings in New York City. Darkness cast its shadow across America that day...all in the name of attacking the “Crusaders and Zionists.”

The secular humanists and the liberal Left were at work in an instant, demonizing anyone that dared acknowledge the doctrine of the terrorists. Thus began the war against Christians and Jews.

The insults, verbal abuse and attacks were so severe that anyone who contradicted them was labeled “ignorant, evil, racist and bigot.” The dumbing-down of America had begun, and all in the name of political correctness.

These same Leftists then began a campaign to blame the Jews (Israel) and Christian fundamentalists for the attack on America. A lethal dose of false guilt was forced down the throats of the American public. When the beliefs of the attackers were defended by those avowing that Islam was a peaceful religion, it signaled an instant victory for the Islamo-fascists.

Since that time, America has continued to fight the war on terror, with Iraq as Ground Zero, but the war is being lost from within. While our troops are in harm’s way, the God-haters are saying and doing everything possible to side with the enemy. None dare call it treason, yet they do all in their power to destroy anyone who stands in their way.

These weak, self-righteous, spineless peddlers of weapons of mass deception have only one goal in mind...to break the will of the nation and force America to surrender to these Islamo-Nazis. They think that leaving Iraq will convince the terror cartel that we wish to be friends.

The battle is, indeed, for the soul of America. These liberal, appeasing God-haters attack our President and every conservative that dares raise a voice with moral clarity, blaming them, not the enemy, for our problems. The lie is that a Right-wing President Bush has squandered the nation’s moral authority. It has been told so many times, that now great numbers of Americans believe it, and are in a state of denial.

Christians are being attacked from within by secular humanists. It began with an attack on family values during the 1960s, and continues to attempt to undermine the freedoms that protect our very lives.

The God-despising, liberal Left has called our President a liar, a warmonger, Hitler, a terrorist, a greater threat than Osama bin Laden. The root of their rage springs from his faith and moral values. The seed was sown when President Bush entered the political arena and declared that Jesus Christ was his greatest hero.

No longer are terrorists called “terrorists.” Quite to the contrary, Christians are rapidly becoming the new group people love to hate, and are now labeled “fundamentalists” and “extremists,” the same terms used for a terrorist. The liberals are more tolerant of terrorists than they are of God-fearing Americans. Democrats are more focused on defeating Bible-believing Christians than the terrorists that want to kill us.

Their plan is to destroy the resolve of the American people and to convince them that the troops in Iraq are not actually fighting a war on terror. These peddlers of perversion are waging psychological warfare which costs them nothing, while our troops daily risk their lives for our freedom.

The goal is to protect the rights of the oppressed; and terrorists are considered to be the oppressed. The liberal Left is more concerned about the humpbacked whale and the spotted owl than winning the war on terror. They have no moral code, and therefore, no criteria by which to identify the real enemy.

These demented New Age humanists blame America, not the terrorists, for 9/11. They consider themselves intellectual superiors. Their pro-choice agenda is a top priority when it comes to killing the unborn; but not when it comes to killing terrorists. They are hostile to everything that is morally right.

Voices such as these brought down the Greek and Roman Empires, fomenting decay from within. It is the cancer that eats at the soul of America. These political appeasers have only one goal: to produce social paranoia which will break the will of the American people and cause Christians to stand down. The cry, “Get out of Iraq,” if heeded, will allow an Iranian Shi’ite Islamic revolution to spread like an Ebola virus from Iran through Iraq, Syria and Lebanon to the borders of Israel and beyond.

Every segment of American society has been penetrated by this liberal influence – arts, education, media, government, etc. Partisan politics has been elevated above national security, while the liberal media has adopted the word “insurgent” to define the terrorists in Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, etc. The word means “a political activist who is not necessarily defiant.” This term was coined by Daniel Webster during the American Revolution to describe such men as Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and George Washington, who fought for freedom from oppression, not for the right to oppress. Now, the fanatical Islamic suicide bomber is no longer a “terrorist,” but rather a misunderstood and maligned “insurgent.”

No one will admit that the vast majority of our troops killed in Iraq are killed by terror states and regimes outside of Iraq. To do that would be to admit that this really is a war on terror.

The awesome devastation wrought on this nation by Osama bin Laden and company is as nothing compared to the knock-out blow that secular humanist liberals in Hollywood, the media and universities are delivering. This will endanger our very lives and the lives of our children.

This is, indeed, a conspiracy, but a Left-wing conspiracy. “He who defines the terms controls the debate.” Osama Bin Laden, wrote a famous letter to Al Zawahari when he was still alive in Iraq and pointed out to him that this was a battle in the media, and that it was more than half the battle. Currently, bin Laden is winning that war by destroying the resolve of the American people. Every opportunity is taken to elevate the terrorists and denigrate a patriotic American public.

The goal of the Left is to drive America out of the Middle East. This will mean surrender to the terrorists. In the terrorist mind, this will mean that they, then, have won the battle and will declare that it’s time to take the war to the streets of America, the Great Satan; just as they have been doing for years against Israel, the Little Satan. Their ultimate aim is to kill not thousands, but millions of Crusaders and Zionists. Why? They believe that a world conspiracy between these two groups is the root cause of all the poverty and other problems in the Arab world.

As these Leftists fight to defend the rights of terrorists, they howl with liberal hysteria over Christians that are pro-American and pro-Israel. Terrorists are rejoicing because the liberal Left in America is doing their job for them by undermining American national security and aiding our enemy.

There was a time when a nation’s military was the decisive factor in any war. That is no longer true. Battles are now fought, and won, in the media. Modern-day pundits in the form of politicians, preachers, producers and the press hold enormous sway over public opinion.

Unlike the engagements in World War II, today battles, and indeed, wars, are no longer fought to a final conclusion, i.e., Korea, Vietnam, Operation Desert Storm, etc. Tactics revolve around incursions, intifadas, insurgents, jihads, and suicide bombers. Superpowers that engage in combat are constrained by the Geneva Convention and accepted rules of engagement; the enemy, on the other hand, is free to break all the rules while pointing a finger of blame at the opponent.

Loyalty to one’s mother country is no longer a given when engaged in combat situations. Americans are no longer willing to sacrifice for the good of the nation. The truth is: Had the “greatest generation” of World War II had the mindset of today’s generation, we might well be speaking German as our mother language.

Loyalty may be decided by op-eds, news clips, advertisements or the latest spin-doctor on the nightly talk show. It may be tied more to political interests, i.e., liberalism, conservatism, Islamism, etc., than to patriotism. America is no longer “one nation under God,” we have become fragmented and polarized.

Victory in the war on terror will remain elusive as long as the liberal factions deny that America is engaged in a war for its very survival, and continue to embrace the lie that the response to 9/11 is merely a “police action.” The liberals refuse to believe that there are millions of would-be Osama bin Ladens waiting for the opportunity to attack. Rather, they have a simple solution to the war on terrorism; give the terrorists what they want, and they will leave us alone. Neville Chamberlain believed that, as did the world during the 1930s.

These crazed liberals believe that you only need to show love and understanding and the Islamo-Nazis will leave you alone. These lies are no different than those told by Hitler during the 30s. At the time, no one believed he really meant it when he said he wanted to rule the world and exterminate the Jews. Six million Jews in Europe thought the same thing; and died because of it, as did 55 million people worldwide.

We pray you will have a blessed Thanksgiving season, even if you are

We also hope you are being blessed by the weekly lessons on prayer.

Christian, do you suffer from an unbridled temper, overpowering

sinful habits, overwhelming sadness, or any number of other spiritually

defeating issues? Are you seemingly unable to establish and maintain

positive meaningful relationships with others?

Counselor or Pastor, do you sometimes wonder why you have such

limited authority over evil spirits and why, after evicting then one

week, the same spirits show up again the next week.

1. Has God Shown Up Lately?

Years ago, when I was a local pastor, one of my men asked

me in passing, 'Pastor, if we get a chance, could we sing my

favorite song this coming Sunday night?'

Dryly (typical of my humor) I said, 'I think not, Charles.

We don't worship you.'

(7) Heartwarming farming story

...But as for me and my house

      we will serve the Lord.

              Joshua 24:15

11/15/06

Today this story makes more sense than ever. It’s a story about the decisions we make and their outcomes.  It’s a story about an incident that sculpted my life.  It makes me grateful that I grew up under the hand of my parents and I hope that I have a chance to pass it on.

This story takes place in the rural hills of “Small Town” Minnesota.

About 30 years ago, towards the fall of the year, we had just finished harvesting our wheat crop. Since us boys had all pitched in and worked like fire ants, my dad had promised to take us pheasant hunting as a reward.  My uncle Joe was on his way to join us, he lived in a neighboring town about 7 miles away.  As he rolled into the yard I remember he and my dad talking about the storm that was suppose to hit that night.  I remember them talking about my neighbor, Donny Becker, and how all of his wheat was still standing in the field.  (A strong storm will cause all your wheat to lie down and therefore it becomes a complete loss because it can’t be harvested.)

Now Donny and our family, for the last few years, didn’t get along because of some silly argument over property.  So I figured this news would make my dad happy since they were kinda “enemies”.  Instead, to my surprise, I watched a blank look roll over my dads face and I saw him turn to his brother Joe and say “You know what pop (my grandpa) would have done”.  Grandpa had just died in April and this was the first time I had heard his name brought up since then.   As Joe nodded his head my dad turned to us boys and instructed us to put our guns away.  He explained we couldn’t go hunting because there was something more important to do. He told us to get our working clothes on and get ready to go to Becker’s farm.

As my dad phoned his other brothers we began rounding up a few tractors, a baler, trailers and the thrashing machine.  Within a half hour my dad and uncles (totaling 5) began a procession to the Becker farm.  As we rolled onto their farm our motorcade was approached by Donny and his son, Jr., who was about 16 years old at the time.  I’ll never know what words were exchanged but that was the first time I saw a grown man cry.  They had made peace and we began to work.  We worked from about 11:00am until 7:00pm and managed to finish every acre of his land, that’s thrashing, bailing, hauling etc.  I remember initially complaining about having to help but later that day I realized a feeling I had never felt before.

The next day I learned that Donny had been battling cancer and that was the reason he had fallen behind on his crops.  Apparently it was very aggressive because he passed away about 2 weeks later.  We all attended the funeral and I remember his son approaching my dad and saying that one day he would think of a way to repay him for our help.  I remember dad saying that it wasn’t necessary; after all they were just as poor as we were.

A few years later the inevitable eventually happened and they lost their farm to foreclosure.  We had finally made peace with them but now it was too late, they were forced to move.  Over the years we lost touch but I like to think I never lost the lesson from that day.  For the last 30 years I would reflect back on that day and use it to guide my decisions.  As a result of this incident I try to be a forgiving person.  It’s never too late to admit wrong and make peace.  I like to complain about things but in the end I don’t have any reason to.  I consider myself fortunate in my career and in health so in return I try to help others when possible.  What my Grandpa passed to my dad is the same thing my dad passed to me.

As you know I travel home often to remind me of my past.  Living in a large town you sometimes lose touch with what’s right and wrong.  My dad is now battling cancer and it seems he may win for a while.  They ended up removing his bladder and prostate but apparently some guy came up with a new type of bladder so you don’t have to have a bag on your side.  It’s an internal thing that’s made from part of your intestine and some synthetic mesh.  They told my mom that my dad is one of the first people to get it.  It’s some creation that was conceived by a doctor working at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  Today I learned that doctors name..….Dr. Donald Becker Jr., our neighbor from years ago.

REVIVAL at ANY COST!

-by Greg Gordon.

Holy DESPERATION

The prophet Isaiah declared the woeful state of Israel over three

thousand

years ago: "Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small

remnant, we

should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto

Gomorrah." How

much different are we? Churches are failing, leaders are fumbling, and

truth is

fallen in the streets. The prophet Isaiah continues with this divine

reprimand:

"they declare their sin as Sodom, they hid it not." And what shall

the end of a

people be that "hid not their sins"? I have seen a strange thing

under the sun:

professors preaching "continue in sin" from the pulpit. The Apostle

Paul in

contrast preached "God forbid" which is one of the strongest

emphatic

statements in Scripture used to convey the ceasing of sin in the life

of the

believer. John Wesley said: "What one generation tolerates, the next

generation

will embrace." Sadly we have tolerated a hell-less, eternity-less,

sin-less

gospel and this next generation is aimed at accepting this as the

genuine

apostolic original. The true Christian witness seems to be almost

overshadowed

by false doctrines, false cults, and false prophets. It is time for a

holy

desperation for revival to arise in God's people! Mary Warburton

Booth said

this when the Salvation Army movement was waning: "How we have prayed

for a

Revival - we did not care whether it was old-fashioned or not - what we

asked

for was that it should be such that would cleanse and revive His

children and

set them on fire to win others." We need a fury of passionate

pleading,

desperate crying, fervent praying for a heaven-sent revival in our day.

Chuck

Smith gave this searing statement to a church that does not realize its

hour:

"Today, we are living in desperate times. Yet, the Church is not

desperate

before God in prayer."

Leonard Ravenhill said that "Revival only comes by birth." With

birth comes:

laborious gestation, travailing birth-pains, and conceptional agony,

shall the

birthing of of revival be any different? Revival prayer is born out of

a holy

and healthy desperation for the presence and power of Christ in His

church. We

need not shrink back from emotions and displays of desperation for

revival...

REVIVAL or DEATH

"For decades sincere believers have asked, "Why don't we have

revival?" And for

decades the answer has always been the same: We don't have revival

because

we're willing to live without it! It really is that simple. Do we

really want

to hear the truth? God responds to hunger and thirst. He fills those

who

recognize their need, who are empty and broken, who are at the point of

desperation, who are panting for Him the way a deer pants for water in

the

desert. He answers dependent prayers. Sure, we want revival. But we

don't need

revival. That's the difference. God will meet us at our point of need,

not our

point of preference. Revival is God's radical measure to get the church

in a

given area or at a given time back to normal before it falls into

spiritual

oblivion and cultural irrelevance. Revival comes when we realize that

it's

either revival or death, revival or continued backsliding, revival or

the world

around us goes to hell." In this above quote from Michael Brown, he

really

speaks to the high requirement for revival namely in one word:

Everything! Oh

Brethren we must realize that this has always been so, there are no

shortcuts

with God, we will never see a revival until this is realized and acted

upon. In

light of eternity let us have tears for our lack of desire and

desperation for

God. John Knox was a Great Man of God and this was his prayer, " God

give me

Scotland or I die!" Again, John Hyde who was a missionary, prayed, "

God give

me souls or I die" Again, Whitefield prayed, " God give me souls or

take my

soul!" May we take it further dear reader, can you pray: "Give me

revival or I

die?"

Where are those that have a burdened heart like Evan Roberts, he prayed

for

revival night and day for twelve years. At the end of these twelve

years he

prayed with such intensity, agony and urgency that his landlord asked

him to

vacate his living quarters. Is there a burning in your soul? a building

desire

in your heart? Let us not fool ourselves the prayer meeting is

"dead" and so

are multitudes in their trespasses and sins. We need a holy desperation

to fill

our prayer meetings, a holy zeal that will not relent until revival

comes. The

"Lord comes suddenly" to his temple, let us not be found sleeping

or great will

be our shame. Mario Murillo in his article: 'Vital insights into

God's

preparations for revival' states: "now is the time to pull out all

the stops.

No program is sacred, no worthy project is worth enough. None of the

ointment

can be spared. It is revival or death!" William Seymour the father of

the

modern day pentecostal movement prayed for five to seven hours a day

for over a

year for revival. And what resulted? a glorious powerful sweeping

pentecost

swept the world. Winkie Pratney told why there was no revival in the

church

over twenty years ago: "We do not have men and women who are prepared

to pay

the same price to preach the same message and have the same power as

those

revivalists of the past. Without these firm believers, the community

can never

be changed. Our concern is conciliatory, our obedience optional, our

lack

theologically and culturally justified. Quite simply, it costs too

much!" S.B.

Shaw who wrote on the welsh revival shares the results of a true

heaven-sent

revival: "A revival that like a tornado will sweep away all the old

dried-up

sermons, and all the cold formal prayers, and all the lifeless singing,

and

like a whirlwind will carry everyone that comes in its path heavenward.

A

revival that will fill the hearts of saints with holy love, and so

burden the

hearts of God's ministers that the word of God will be like fire shut

up in

their bones. For such a revival our heart cries out to God! For such a

revival

we are ready to watch and toil and pray." May we take it further dear

reader,

for such a revival are you willing to die?

If NO REVIVAL

In the writings of Isaiah we see three clear consequences for the

result of the

nation of Israel not having repentance towards God. May I say that

these three

consequences will also be ours if we do not have a renewed repentance

in the

Church and a revolutionary revival from Heaven. If no revival then we

will see

these three judgments come on the earth and surely anyone that has been

awakened to the hour will realize these monstrous consequences are

already have

fallen upon us.

If no revival then, hell will be enlarged. "Therefore hell hath

enlarged

herself, and opened her mouth without measure." Oh the horror of it,

hell

yawning and swallowing multiplied millions of souls that will be damned

forever. To just see a glimpse of this reality will shake any soul to

ask what

can be done? George Whitefield said: "At the day of judgement we

shall all meet

again." How will you feel when you meet all of the millions of souls

that could

have been saved if you prayed and sought God for a revival of religion?

When

the Church does not have revival hell enlarges what a frightful

thought.

If no revival then, sin will abound. Men will begin to draw sin "with

a cart"

speaking of the enormous amounts of sin that abounds in a season when

the

Church is not being the salt of the earth. We see that evidently today

where

people call good evil and evil good and to such God says "Woe unto

them." As

Richard Baxter said of sin, "it is the murderer of the whole

world." The only

hope for lost captive sinners is Christ! yet the Church and Christians

keep

multitudes from Christ. Lamentable fact! When the church is not the

"light of

the world" the world falls into outer darkness. When the Church does

not have

revival sin abounds 0n the earth.

If no revival then, the Word will be despised. In a season where there

is no

revival in the church the world will begin to disregard the law of God

as the

Scripture says "they have cast away the law of the Lord." And they

begin to

"despise" not only the Word of God but the "Holy One of

Israel." This is a

double-smart; the church is ineffective and God is mocked. Martyn-Lloyd

Jones

wrote to this fact: "Does it grieve you my friends, that the name of

God is

being taken in vain and desecrated? Does it grieve you that we are

living in a

godless age. The main reason we should be praying about revival is that

we are

anxious to see God's name vindicated and His glory manifested."

When the Church

does not have revival God's name is despised.

Leonard Ravenhill wrote: "this generation of Christians is

responsible for this

generation of sinners." This responsibility is of eternal consequence

dear

reader, being a Christian is a somber thing. Over a hundred years ago

Andrew

Bonar wrote: "Revivals begin with God's own people; the Holy Spirit

touches

their heart anew, and gives them new fervor and compassion, and zeal,

new light

and life, and when He has thus come to you, He next goes forth to the

valley of

dry bones...Oh, what responsibility this lays on the Church of God! If

you grieve

Him away from yourselves, or hinder His visit, then the poor perishing

world

suffers sorely!" Evan Roberts wrote: "Prayer is buried, and lost

and Heaven

weeps.  If all prayed the wicked would flee from our midst or to the

refuge."

LOSS of REPUTATION

Perhaps one reason why there is no revival is because the minister's

are not

willing to pay the cost, namely the loss of reputation. Gilbert Tennet

was used

mightily of God in the second great awakening, hear him give account of

the

popular preaching in his day: "They often strengthened the hands of the

wicked

by promising them life. They comfort people before they convince them;

sow

before they plow: and are busy in raising a fabric before they lay a

foundation. These foolish builders strengthen men's carnal security by

their

soft, selfish, cowardly discourses. They have not the courage or

honesty to

thrust the nail of terror into the sleeping souls!" Preaching without

unction,

Praying without fervor, are two reasons why revival tarries in our day.

We need

a moratorium on reputation to see revival. May God rouse this

generation to a

passionate pursuit for revival and a determined ardor to see it come to

pass.
