PRAY CENTRAL
FLORIDA
Dear
Fellow Prayer Warrior, November, 2007
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord
Jesus Christ. The Greater Orlando Christian Film Festival was a fruitful time
as 649 people made decisions for Christ and about 13,000 people attended the
movies. 80 churches and ministries were involved in the effort which made it a
great example of what God can do when the Body of Christ comes together in
unity.
Florida Marriage Protection Amendment - which would define marriage as the union of one man
and one woman. This proposed amendment to the Florida state constitution has
nearly enough signatures to make it on the ballot in 2008. Almost, but not
quite. Many of us have worked hard to get to this point, please help put this
over the top. The following is from a Florida4Marriage.org e-mail dated
10/31/07.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We are 90 days out from the final legal deadline of Feb 1, 2007
to submit all petitions. We are still some 13,000 short according
to the official count in Tallahassee. Lets do all that we can to
finish the job. Ask your pastor to do one final collection at
church. We will need to collect many, many more over the actual
goal needed of 611,009 in order to make sure we hit the mark safely and avoid a
legal challenge. The official Petitions in PDF format can be downloaded
from our website at www.Florida4Marriage.org. All
petitions now have to be submitted to us as the official sponsoring
organization. So please do not submit them directly to the Supervisor of
Elections and mail them only to P.O. Box 521339, Longwood, FL 32752. Thanks
for all you do for this historical effort to preserve marriage for children and
the next generation.
Let the Chaplain Speak - Chaplain Bernard Fleeks at
the Orange County Jail now has a radio program which pulls together former
inmates and programs which minister to them. Hear him each Tuesday at 11:15
a.m. on AM channel 1140. For info call 407-529-7500. He has asked us to pray
for a successful launch of this new endeavor including much fruit for the
Kingdom and needed finances.

(2) Intercessors for America prayer points for
November
UNITE IN NOVEMBER 2, 2007 FIRST FRIDAY
PRAYER AND FASTING
PRAYER FOCUS
AFFIRMING GOD IN OUR STATE CONSTITUTIONS
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord . . ." (Ps
32:12) Offer thanksgiving for the deliberate recognition of and the references
to the Creator God of the Bible in each of our state constitutions. Using the
quotations from state preambles listed on Page 4 of the November 2 IFA
newsletter, ( ifapray.org ) affirm and proclaim the reality of this
foundational truth for your own state, for the other states of the Union, for
the District of Columbia, and for the inhabited U.S. Territories. Intercede for
the upholding of this constitutional and public recognition of God by all state
Supreme Courts and by the U.S. Supreme Court.
STATECRAFT | FOREIGN POLICY
Intercede for spiritual statesmen and for adherence to biblical revelation and
principles in the formulation and execution of foreign policy, especially
toward Israel and Jerusalem. Intercede for the revelation of Jesus as Messiah
in the Middle East and for "the peace of Jerusalem." (Ps 122)
Intercede that wisdom, adequate
intelligence, strategy and tactical direction be granted to all involved in
foreign service, statecraft, and policy, especially regarding Israel, Iraq,
Iran, Syria, Lebanon, China, Russia, North Korea, Somalia, and Sudan.
(Tapestry, "Peace to Jerusalem, Holyland
Tapestries, www.holylandtapestries.com/galsection1.html )
PRIMARY ELECTIONS
Intercede that moral, God-fearing, pro-life, and pro- family men
and women be selected, supported, and find favor in local, state, and national
campaigns. Pray that the Lord reveal His choices, expose corruption,
immorality, bribery, hidden agendas, and controlling persons or special
interests. Intercede that truth be revealed during the Presidential primary
debates and forums. Pray against confusion created by the accelerated round of
early primary Presidential elections.
GRATITUDE | THANKSGIVING
"In everything give thanks . . ." (1 Thess
5:18) An attitude of ingratitude and thanklessness is prevalent in the Church
and across the nation. This sin of omission is crippling the faith and prayer
life of many. Offer prayers of repentance and pray for a more genuine and
sincere national Thanksgiving observance, in addition to the family meal
gatherings. As believers, let us offer thanksgiving for Christ's work of
Redemption, for forgiveness of sin, and for deliverance from oppression and
patterns of iniquity.
"I urge, then, first of all, that
requests, prayers, intercession
and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those
in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives
in all godliness and holiness.
This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
who wants all men to be saved
and to come to a knowledge of the truth."

Update on Marriage Amendment
From: "Florida4Marriage.org" <actionalerts@floridafamilyaction.org>
To: "George Kern" <praycf@juno.com>
Date: Wed, 31 Oct 2007 10:04:39 -0500
Subject: Special Report and Update- October 31, 2007
Editorial: Oct
30, 2007- Tallahassee Democrat
Marriage amendment serves the greater good
(A response to the Tallahassee Democrat Editorial Opinion, Sept. 30).
The Tallahassee Democrat
published an editorial against the Florida Marriage Protection Amendment, which
would define marriage as the union of one man and one woman on the ballot in
2008. The reasons for the Democrat's opposition were varied but included
arguments that the amendment was "discriminatory" and the especially
wild claim that "it could have particularly adverse effects on
seniors." Let me set the record straight.
Current marriage laws do not
arbitrarily discriminate against homosexuals. Thirteen years ago, I applied for
a marriage license in Leon County. They did not ask me if I had a same-sex
attraction, if I ever had a homosexual experience, or whether I identified myself
as "gay." They did ask me if I was over the age of 18, marrying
someone over 18, marrying my sister or my cousin, or already married. They also
wanted to know if I was marrying someone of the opposite sex. If I failed to
meet any one of these legal requirements, then I could not have obtained the
license. The reality is that all of us have limitations on whom we can marry.
Most of us react negatively to any
claim of discrimination. But every law discriminates in the sense that it sets
forth distinctions and creates limitations for human behavior. The real
question is whether those limitations are arbitrary and capricious - or whether
they serve a greater purpose to benefit the common good.
Consider how differently government
treats homeowners versus home renters. Owners get tax breaks, incentives,
protections and other goodies that renters do not. Is it because we think
homeowners are greater in value, worth or dignity under the Constitution? No.
It is because homeowners benefit society in unique and important ways that
renters may not. Homeowners typically stimulate the economy; they take care of
properties, and they create greater stability for communities. It's the same
with natural marriage.
If the only two criteria for
marriage are love and commitment, then where do we draw the line? Should
society allow every person - or groups of persons - to marry irrespective of
age, current marital status, closeness of familial relations, or what
expression of sexuality they prefer? Of course not. The institution of natural
marriage is not like a buffet where you can pick and choose whatever you like
best.
Without explanation or analysis, the
Democrat argues that the marriage amendment could prohibit people from
getting benefits and will adversely affect senior citizens.
The language of the Florida Marriage
Protection Amendment closely follows the existing state marriage law and will
have the same legal effect. The amendment defines marriage as the union of a
man and a woman - and then bans polygamy, group marriages and same-sex
marriages. The language does not prohibit any of the existing domestic
partnerships in Florida. These partnerships grant only a small bundle of rights
such as hospital visitation and burial rights - all of which incidentally can
be obtained through private contract and simple estate-planning documents.
Florida domestic partnerships are
clearly not "treated as marriage or the substantial equivalent" and
they are therefore permitted under both the current law and the proposed
amendment. In fact, Florida courts have already made this clear. The amendment
does not interfere with same-sex benefits granted by private or public entities
for the same reasons.
Gay men and women are citizens of
the United States of America. They pay taxes, serve in the military and
contribute to our society. They should be afforded the full dignity, respect
and protection given to all other citizens. However, they should not be granted
special rights to fundamentally redefine this basic human institution and then force
that definition upon the rest of society through unelected, activist judges.
John Stemberger is an Orlando attorney and president of the
Florida Family Policy Council He is also state chairman of
Florida4Marriage.org, the official sponsoring committee for the Florida
Marriage Protection Amendment.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We are 90 days out from the final legal
deadline of Feb 1, 2007 to submit all petitions. We are still some 13,000

in Fort Lauderdale, we spoke with a wonderful supporter of ours who said
she has a box of about 1,000 petitions at her house that have still never been
turned in! Please send in any in your possession ASAP. Lets do
all that we can to finish the job. Ask your pastor to do one final
collection at church. We will need to collect many, many
more over the actual goal needed of 611,009 in order to make sure we hit

EVERYONE
needs to take 55 seconds and go to this link on the Liveprayer.com
homepage,
http://www.liveprayer.com/abortion.cfm On
that link is a 55 second
video
clip of an actual abortion being performed. If you have not watched
it,
YOU MUST! This is what happens to over 4,000 innocent babies EVERY DAY
in
this nation! You need to see with your own eyes what this is really all
about.
Since God led me to get this footage and put it on the website over a
year
ago, we have had well over 1,000 emails now from women who were
contemplating
having an abortion, watched the video, and changed their mind
(Watch
the incredible testimony of baby Delilah also on that same link).
Despite
the several death threats and scathing emails I get every month just
from
having that video on my website, I want the world to see what really
happens
to millions of babies here in the United Sates and around the world
every
year!

From:
Apostles Roundtable
Former
Muslims Share Christ
by Paul
Strand, CBN News
SEATTLE,
WA- Many former Muslims are now involved in efforts to
convert
believers in Islam to Christianity.
CBN News
met with some of them as they linked up with other Christians
at the
Seattle Revival Center. They trained in how best to reach
Muslims
and then went out to do just that at the city's annual Arab
Festival.
For some
reason, Christians think Muslims are particularly hard to
witness
to. But these Muslims-turned-Christians pointed out they have
the exact
same spiritual needs as everybody else.
George Saieg, leader of Arabic Christian Perspective, advises
Christians
to dig into their own past and fears, remembering "how we
used to
be not assured of our salvation -- we used to be afraid of
dying."
"And
this is the same common ground that the Muslims have today --
that
they're not assured of their salvation, that they're afraid of
dying,"
he said. "But Jesus came to our life and changed our life.
This is
the story we need to tell them, how Jesus changed my life and
He's able
to change theirs, too."
Kamal Saleem came to America to
recruit terrorists, but instead became
a convert
to Christ.
"Three
Christian men reached out to me and loved me unconditionally,"
he said.
But many
years before that, he was a terrorist - even as a child.
"I
joined the PLO when I was seven years old. Before that, I was with
a group
called the Muslim Brotherhood when I was six years old. I went
to
assault camp when I was seven years old. I went on my first mission
when I
was seven years old. I became a recruiter when I was seven
years
old."
He fought
in many battles and wars -- against Christians in Lebanon,
Russians
in Afghanistan, Jews in Israel.
But he
ended up in America, recruiting new terrorists here.
"First
you teach them Islamic teaching, and once it's embedded in
their
system, then you teach them how to use a gun," Saleem
said.
Saieg agrees with Saleem, that
Islam preaches violence.
"When
I see Sura 9:5, it talks about ''kill the Christians
and Jews --
the
People of the Book -- wherever you find them.' There are over 140
verses in
the Koran that talk about killing," Saieg says.
Saleem says don't buy everything you hear about Islam these
days.
"Muslims
will say 'We're a people of peace -- we worship the same
God,'"
He said.
But what
they're really taught is "that Jews are pigs and monkeys.
Jews they
must be killed. 'The rock will cry out "there's a Jew hiding
behind
me, come and kill him,"' Saleem said.
They say
Muslims believe Christ was a mere man.
"He
didn't even die on the cross. He was lifted up and He's coming
back and
He will be a Muslim," Saleem said.
Arabic
Christian Perspective hopes to open up a lot of Islamic eyes
when it
holds a debate with Muslim apologist Nadir Ahmed in Anaheim,
Calif.,
October 20.
Nadir
Ahmed is raring to debate the key question: whether Islam is a
religion
of peace or terrorism.
"There's
a lot of anti-Islamic propaganda, especially by Pat Robertson
and CBN
and places like that," Ahmed said. "And I'm really shocked to
see how
evangelicals love to promote this idea -- that it's not a
religion
of peace."
Ahmed
seems a natural for this debate. He runs his own Web site
defending
Islam, Examine the Truth.com
"There's
clear teaching to promote peace with non-Muslims. And those
verses
are not mentioned by these propagandists. And that's what I'm
going to
do. I'm going to mention those verses," he said.
But it
didn't seem very peaceful when Muslims eavesdropped on CBN
News'
interview with Saieg then ripped into him for saying
Islam was
not a
religion of peace.
They
yelled and screamed he wasn't telling the truth, shouting down
the
former terrorist Saleem as he tried to defend Saieg.
Meanwhile,
Ahmed insists Americans misunderstand Muslims and key
Islamic
words like "jihad," which means "struggle."
"Someone's
struggling with alcoholism and he's trying to stay away
from
that. That's a jihad against alcohol," he said.
But Saieg says jihad almost always means bloody struggle. And Saleem
warns
that right here in America there are 45 Islamic assault camps
where
would-be terrorists train.
"These
are embedded in different states," Saleem said.
"Today the
recruiting
ground is in the prison system, high schools, universities,
neighborhoods."
It's to
counter such efforts that Saieg and his people are
reaching
out as
quickly as they can to Muslims at Arab Festivals, like one that
took
place in Seattle, and a recent one in Dearborn, Mich., where
dozens
converted.
"And,
praise the Lord, we had 42 Muslims come to the Lord." Saieg
said.
These
former Muslims insist Islamic people are not by nature
violent. They totally blame the mayhem and terror pouring out of
Islamic
lands on the religion itself.
"I
really look at Osama bin Laden himself as a victim of Islam. My
problem
is not with Osama bin Laden. My problem is not with the Muslim
people,"
Saieg said. "My problem is with the teaching of
Islam, the
teaching
of Koran because this is what is pushing Muslims to do what
they're
doing."
"So
while these Christians say that Islam itself may be a danger, they
believe
the Islamic people are as deserving of love as anyone else and
can be
just as open to Jesus.

The Golden Compass
Parents need to pay attention to movie that
promotes atheism and denigrates Christianity; family advocates say parents need
to beware.
Adam Holz, associate editor for Focus on
the Family's Plugged In magazine and Web site, called the series
"heretical." "Pullman has been openly hostile about C.S. Lewis,
and has been pretty clear about his desire to offer an alternate fantasy series
based on what he would describe as humanist principles," he said.
The Golden Compass, opening December 7, was adapted from the His Dark Materials
series of books, a bestselling trilogy by author Philip Pullman that
incorporates every ingredient necessary for a shot at box-office fantasy gold,
including magic, monsters, and a battle between the forces of good and evil.
Unfortunately for the filmmakers, Pullman's books also include a fair amount of
what has been perceived to be [anti-Christian] rhetoric; in the first book, for
instance, the church is in the business of kidnapping children and conducting some
rather unpleasant experiments on them.
The book series follows the adventures of a streetwise girl who travels through
multiple worlds populated by witches, armor-plated bears, and sinister
ecclesiastical assassins to defeat the oppressive forces of a senile God.
The series' author, Philip Pullman, is an avowed atheist who has averred that
"I don't profess any religion; I don't think it's possible that there is a
God; I have the greatest difficulty in understanding what is meant by the words
'spiritual' or 'spirituality.'"
Pullman left little doubt about his intentions when he said in a
2003 interview with The Sydney Morning Herald that "My books are about
killing God."
Conservative British columnist Peter Hitchens
labeled Pullman "The Most Dangerous Author in Britain" and described
him as the writer "the atheists would have been praying for, if atheists
prayed."
Bill Donohue, president of The Catholic League, has condemned The Golden
Compass as a "pernicious" effort to indoctrinate children into
anti-Christian beliefs and has produced a 23-page pamphlet titled The Golden
Compass: Unmasked in which he maintains that Pullman "sells atheism for
kids."

SOUTH
AFRICA: TWR MISSIONARIES CREDIT PRAYER FOR RELEASE
Two Trans
World Radio (TWR) missionaries serving in South Africa are recovering after
they survived a kidnapping in South Africa “because of prayers,” the
broadcasting mission reported.
The troubles began on Tuesday, Oct. 23, when Swaziland couple Doug and Madeleen Schumacher were “viciously carjacked and
kidnapped” at gunpoint in Johannesburg. “The Schumachers
had just arrived to visit another missionary family when a carload of thugs
pulled in behind them and forced them into the back seat of their own car,” TWR
reported. “The two thieves drove off and for the next 20 minutes told the Schumachers that they intended to kill them.”
Witnesses
sent e-mails to TWR staff and friends around the globe, “asking for prayer for
the couple,” while other TWR-Africa staff members searched for their captured
colleagues.
Ray Alary, TWR’s human resources director for Africa,
suggested that the prayers worked. “The man who was holding them at gunpoint
said to them, ‘I was going to kill you, but you obviously have people praying
for you and I am not going to kill you.’” The bandits then dumped the Schumachers 30 miles from their home, “uninjured and
praising the Lord for His protection,” TWR reported.

Beloved --
The post about the South Carolina housewife who stalks terrorist chat rooms was
meant to stir us to rise to meet challenges that are supernatural. It
takes someone who is focused and gutsy. Sounds so simple, doesn't
it? So why don't we see more gutsy believers rise to challenge the powers
of darkness?
There is a stirring. There is decidedly a shift going on as God's people
recognize that this is the land He's given to us -- anything that happens on
our watch requires our response.
The following article was sent to me by Gracie Phillips' proud Daddy. He
seems to think that raising Gracie on the Word and grits brought about this bold
teenager's willingness to confront the encroachment of evil in her
neighborhood.
As a Southern woman, I can personally attest to the power of raising kids on
the Word. And grits definitely help, too!
(For our international readers, grits is a staple in the homes of most
traditional Southerners. It is made from corn and is equated with
Southern cooking. It is often the punchline of
jokes made by people who lack the insight to appreciate the cultural refinement
that comes with this time-honored food!)

Only the result counts.
Graci, 15, a sophomore at Middletown High School, said when
she heard Broadway was moving — from 53 S. Main St. to the former Parrot
Restaurant, putting the business across the street from her house — she
approached Mehl, Broadway owner, about removing the
adult magazines.
Gutsy girl, this Graci
Phillips.
Last month, Graci tried to
convince Mehl of what she called "dangers"
associated with adult magazines. She was preaching, but he wasn't in the same
church.
"He was like, whatever," she said. "He
said, 'You can't control what we sell in our store. It's not up to you.'"
She and the youth group at Stratford Heights Church of
God would keep praying for him, she told him.
"I told her she had a right to say what she
wanted to say," he said. "It's a free country. What she said did not
influence my decision."
But when Broadway News reopened Tuesday morning, there
were no Playboys or Penthouses for sale. Mehl said
the decision wasn't based on the conversation with Graci.
"It's a new start," was his simple reason.
The loss of adult magazine sales will be a "major
hit," said Mehl, who refused to release the
amount.
On
Wednesday afternoon, Graci, accompanied by
classmates, church members and her parents, brothers and sisters, and Terry Sherrer, executive director of the YMCA, walked across the
street from her home to Broadway News.
She presented "an overwhelmed" Mehl with a large "Thank You" poster signed by
numerous people.
He told the group he'd hang the poster in the store,
and Graci promised, "We'll be back."
Later, while sitting in the corner of his business, Mehl said he wants to be "a good downtown
business."
As he talked about the obstacles of relocating, how
the city provided "wonderful" assistance, and his loyal customer
base, he glanced at the poster.
He read a few of the comments. Tears streamed down his
cheek.
"Sorry," he said. "I don't get
emotional like this. I'm choked up."
Earlier, while sitting on her porch, Graci said, "We're so thankful to God because without
us praying, this never would have happened."
She was
asked about the criticism she'll surely receive.
"This
is something I'm passionate about it. God is my judge and I'll stand in front
of him one of these days. They can get mad at me if they like, but I know I'm
right. God has my back."
