PRAY CENTRAL
FLORIDA
Dear
Fellow Prayer Warrior, March, 2008
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord
Jesus Christ. 2 Cor. 6:14b says “what
fellowship has light with darkness?” Much of the rest of that chapter talks
about being separate from the world. More and more it seems there is a mixing
of the world into The Church. One very influential example of that is Oprah. As
you read the following please pray for her and the many Central Floridians that
are being led astray by her and others like her.
Oprah leading people into the New Age movement
The following is an editorial
by George Kern. Oprah is a great talk show host and apparently a very good and
generous person. She also has said she is a Christian. The problem is that
recently she has been leading her multitudes of followers away from biblical
Christianity and straight into the New Age movement, which has its basis in
Eastern (non-Christian) religions. Christians that would not seek out New Age
books on their own are doing so because Oprah is recommending them. We need to
understand this situation and be ready to point people to the Bible and other
solid Christian books that address the longings in people’s hearts. “A Course
in Miracles” is a 365 day course on Oprah’s radio station that runs through
2008. Here is an excerpt from lesson 70 (March 10, 2008) titled “My salvation
comes from me”. “The seeming cost of accepting today's idea is this: It means
that nothing outside yourself can save you; nothing outside yourself can give
you peace. But it also means that nothing outside yourself can hurt you, or
disturb your peace or upset you in any way. Today's idea places you in charge
of the universe, where you belong because of what you are. This is not a role
that can be partially accepted. And you must surely begin to see that accepting
it is salvation.”
If
you still doubt what I am saying about Oprah or want some background
information to share with others then check out the following web sites. Chuck
Norris talks about Oprah’s new 10 week study of the New Age book "A New
Earth" on http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=57827.

(2) Onething
Regional Conference March 28th and 29th in Lakeland
It is our
desire for our onething conferences to act as a catalyst that would provoke
young adults into a greater reality of who God is. It is from the seedbed of
night and day prayer that we call this generation to a wholehearted pursuit of
God, challenging them to seek the Lord with lives of prayer, fasting and
fulfilling the Great Commission.
Why this
generation?
Statistics
predict that in next 5-7 yrs this entire generation will no longer consider the
pursuit of God a priority in their life. At this point in history a personal
revival in the lives of a whole generation is crucial. We desire to see a
movement of young adults who will return to a radical pursuit of God with lives
of wholehearted devotion and focus. This generation has a clear destiny and we
are fighting to see it come to fruition.
Why Come?
By
attending this conference you are going to get a clear clarion call to this
generation to live wholly before the Lord. You will receive clear teachings on
God, His attributes and His nature with the intent to awaken a Psalms 27:4 cry;
“One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: That I may dwell in the
house of the LORD All the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD,
and to inquire in His temple.”
We
believe that radical worship will introduce and usher a generation into the
presence of the Lord, leading them into encounter with Him in a lifestyle of
worship and prayer. When young adults hear and understand who God is, they will
extravagantly turn to Him.
We have
received numerous testimonies of onething being a vehicle of furthering an
individual’s destiny and dream in God. We are striving after a genuine and true
encounter in worship and in teaching, downplaying hype in hopes of meeting God
face to face. In coming you will receive a clear and profound approach to going
after this generation and seeing a real, authentic, no-frills Christianity in
young adults.
Focuses:
Our
messages primarily are fascination with God (Psalm 27:4) and a lifestyle of
prayer and fasting. We are living in a critical time in history when we will
see the Spirit of God break out in our midst in an unprecedented way. We also
center on practical ways to walk out the Sermon on the Mount lifestyle (Matthew
5-7).
It is our
heart that young adults would have an encounter with the living God; that would
leave them awakened to His extravagant love. We desire for this generation to
be challenged and encouraged to pursue Him with all their hearts, giving them
tools to cultivate this kind of holy living.

Greetings!
Prayerfully consider participating in the 10th Anniversary City Impact
Roundtable ~ It may be the most diverse "think tank" in the nation of
men and women who share your vision for city impact. Bring a team to represent
what God is doing in your city or community,
Phil
Ray Bakke will be our keynote
speaker. His topic: "How to Exegete a City." You'll learn from
Ray the types of questions he asks to really understand the people, stories and
institutions of your city. At the core of the CIR is a personal connection with
other cityreachers. There will be significant time at this CIR to connect with
others who have vision and experience in city transformation. This CIR will
be limited to 200 participants.
We expect a strong
turnout from New England where God is bringing His Church together in towns and
villages as well as in the larger cities. You will hear from leaders of the
Emmanuel Gospel Center and the practical and powerful church research they are
doing in Boston as they track the Quiet Revival and the importance of ethnic
church planting movements. For those who want to see some of the work going on
in Boston first-hand, there will be an afternoon ministry vision trip into
Boston for the first eighty who sign up (for an additional fee to cover the
buses).
Experienced
cityreachers from across the nation and the globe will be with us to share what
God is doing in their cities. We will hear from leaders of national ministry
networks coupled with city leaders where their networks have become an integral
part of the cityreaching effort. These include leaders from the Christian

II Timothy is a letter written by a church
planting coach to a young church planter. Within chapter 2, verse 2 are the DNA
for reproducing churches (Apostolic Vision, Radical Disciple Making, Genuine
Community, Missional Impulse and the Gospel).
"And the things you have heard me say
in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be
qualified to teach others." - II Timothy 2:2
·
Session
#1 with Ed Stetzer: The Characteristics of Reproducing Churches - Our plenary sessions will start with a
panel of leading Reproducing Church leaders introducing their own perspective
on what it takes to multiply churches in a powerful, God-honoring way. We will
then analyze DNA traits.
·
Session
#2 with Andy Stanley: Apostolic Vision - The Apostle Paul is passing along the
vision of a reproducing church to a young church planter named Timothy. The DNA
of reproducing churches contains an apostolic vision of going and sending. As
leaders of reproducing churches we must clearly communicate the vision of what
it means to be a reproducing church.
·
Session
#3a with Steve Andrews: Radical Disciple Making - What Paul is doing with Timothy is
disciple-making. What Paul is asking this young church planter Timothy to do is
disciple-making. Disciple-making is essential to leadership-making which is
essential to church-making which is essential for being a reproducing church.
·
Session
#3b with Dave Ferguson: Genuine Community - The pattern that Paul left for Timothy
to follow was the creation of eternal communities called the church. The result
of an apostolic vision and radical disciple-making is always a community of
people who will get each other through anything and offer hope to those outside
the community in this life and the next.
·
Session
#4 with Alan Hirsch: Missional Movement - From Paul to Timothy to "many
witnesses" to "reliable men" to "others" shows us four
generations of reproduction. The DNA of reproducing churches contains a
missional impulse to multiply. As a part of a movement of reproducing churches
we must continually insist that we see reproduction in every part of the
mission.
·
Session
#5 with Tim Keller: The Gospel - What Paul passed along to Timothy and
ultimately to generations of reproduction was the good news of the hope we find
in Jesus. The DNA of reproducing the church of Jesus Christ always carries with
it the hope found in the person of Jesus. This is what the vision and movement
are all about; offering people the hope found in Jesus.

2008 - Orlando

His Heart
for 2008
by Robert
Hartley
Edited by Amyann Hartley
Forward Thinking
Late one evening, I sat before the Lord contemplating
2007 in review. It pained my heart that I might not have loved the Lord as I
was called to this past year. Because of physical challenges and other issues
of life, I knew I hadn’t been all I had hoped to be in 2007. I began to ask
Him, “Did I get the love out this year? Did I do all I was called to do and was
I all that I was called to be for the sake of others? Did I give enough love,
whether great or small, to God and to those around me?” I did not feel a
response from the Lord to the questions I was asking. Instead, I felt a
physical presence enter my room and to my surprise, he didn’t comment
negatively on 2007, but started declaring a vision for 2008.
The Lord Declares
that it is the “Year Where We Could Get the Love Out”
This physical presence in my room ignored my
insecurities concerning the past and made a powerful statement about the
future. The Lord told me that the year of 2008 is the “love the Lord year.” I
was immediately given a tremendous confidence that this would be the year where
we could get the love out and love him in unique, powerful ways. Marketplace
people would love as they desired to love without having to strive for it. This
was the year of new beginnings where the Lord would take believers to a new
place of green pastures, freeing them from worry and fretting, living in the
oasis of love and trust in Him. It was time to have just plain fun and make
love enjoyable. People would receive their unique forms of worship and be
comfortable in their own expressions of love for God and for others.
50,000,000 Being
Released into their Song of Love
As the encounter continued, I did not see a man but
was very aware that He was speaking to me. He then spoke that the Joseph
Company would begin to help 50,000,000 marketplace people be released in their
“song of love,” their unique, personal expression of love for God and others.
In the year of 2008, these believers would begin to find their footing and get
into a place where they were confident and comfortable in love. Even in the
midst of what might look like a famine in difficult economic situations, God’s
people in the marketplace would thrive in love.
I heard that the result of love and simple faith in God would be a shattering
of the low ceiling on the knowledge of God in cities across the earth. When
people begin not to worry like men, but trust like children, the ceiling that
separates us from the knowledge of God comes crumbling down.
Targeting Token
Cities
I asked
Him next about specific cities and how would He release His presence and bring
people into a place where they could love Him well. I received revelation on
specific cities as token cities for many places across the world. As you read
the specific cities below, ask the Lord if one is a model for your own city,
and begin to ask the Lord for your city.
[editor’s
note: I just included Orlando, see their web site for the rest]
Orlando, FL – Orlando is a city called to be a “prophetic center
of wisdom” for the nations. When people will want to fear, this city will
declare the wisdom of God and give them the keys to His divine plan. They will
see the direction and the directive of the Lord and will know how to instruct
others with the knowledge of God.
The Daniel
Lifestyle is the Key
I believe
there is an invitation this year, not into religious activity, but into the
doors of a discovery place where there is simplicity of pace and a lifestyle of
love. This year we are to listen to the voice of love, not of accusation. We
are to remind one another to walk in the Daniel lifestyle of prayer, fasting
and marvelous camaraderie. My charge for you at the beginning of this year is
to go for it in love and faith. Let us love the Lord well this year and get the
love out.

(12) Update on Iraqi Christian Community
IRAQI CHRISTIANS NERVOUS AFTER ARCHBISHOP'S ABDUCTION; KIDNAPPING COULD HURT
THE IRAQI CHURCH
Intercede for all Christians and churches in
Iraq. (1 Tim 2:2)
Pray that wisdom and strategy be granted to
U.S. commanders in Iraq. Intercede for Iraqi President Jalal Talabani
(Kurdish), Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki (Shiite Muslim), the Parliament, and
all officials-that a form of good government that is representative of all
Iraqi socio-religious ethnic groups be established and maintained. Intercede
for all troops deployed and for their families-for protection, good health and
morale.
Iraqi
Prime Minister Maliki has issued an all-out effort to secure the release of
Chaldean Catholic archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho, who was kidnapped last Friday.
The Mosul abduction has sent shockwaves throughout the Christian community,
says Open Doors USA President Carl Moeller.
"Christians
there, many of them, told me about stories of being forced out of their homes
[and] told by Al-Qaeda in Iraq that they would need to flee the city or face
their children being kidnapped. But this particularly--because it's a leading
figure in the Christian community--has sent shockwaves throughout the Christian
community."
Moeller
says this isn't good news for the already-shrinking Christian population in
Iraq. "It just adds more fuel to people wanting to flee. And in fleeing,
they'll reduce the Christian witness in that society. . . .The historic
Christian church in Iraq has decreased from roughly one-million around the time
of the first Gulf War, to less than half a million. However, thousands of
Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus Christ in Iraq today, and that is a
reality throughout the North and even in the South."
Moeller
says there's evidence of that today. "There is actually a Muslim
background believer church in Northern Iraq, in Kurdistan. . . . But today,
there are thousands of Kurdish Christians/ Muslim background believers."

Update
from 3/14/08
An Iraqi police officer and morgue
official confirmed reports that the archbishop's body had been found buried
near Mosul, where he had been abducted. The Vatican said Pope Benedict XVI was
profoundly moved and saddened by Archbishop Rahho's death. He was kidnapped
soon after he left Mass in Mosul on 29 February.
No one has claimed responsibility for his
death. The archbishop, 65, was the latest in a long line of Chaldean clerics to
be abducted in Iraq since the US-led invasion in March 2003. Three people who
were with him at the time, a driver and two guards, were killed by gunmen.

(13) She wants her son to become a suicide bomber.
WORSHIPPERS
OF DEATH
Zahra
Maladan is an educated woman who edits a women's magazine in Lebanon. She is
also a mother, who undoubtedly loves her son. She has ambitions for him, but
they are different from those of most mothers in the West. She wants her son to
become a suicide bomber.
At
the recent funeral for the assassinated Hezbollah terrorist Imad Moughnaya --
the mass murderer responsible for killing 241 marines in 1983 and more than 100
women, children and men in Buenos Aires in 1992 and 1994 -- Ms. Maladan was
quoted in the New York Times giving the following warning to her son: "if
you're not going to follow the steps of the Islamic resistance martyrs, then I
don't want you."
Zahra
Maladan represents a dramatic shift in the way we must fight to protect our
citizens against enemies who are sworn to kill them by killing themselves. The
traditional paradigm was that mothers who love their children want them to live
in peace, marry and produce grandchildren. Women in general, and mothers in
particular, were seen as a counterweight to male belligerence. The picture of
the mother weeping as her son is led off to battle -- even a just battle -- has
been a constant and powerful image. (Wall Street Journal 3/3/08)
