Fellow Prayer Warrior, May, 2008
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord
Jesus Christ. As most of you know, the Global Day of Prayer (GDP) was May 11th.
Many millions of Christians all around the world were praying for a global move
of God. Following the GDP is 90 Days of Blessing. If we believe that God
answers prayer then we should be looking for fresh ways that God’s Spirit is at
work both globally and locally. We prayed for a deeper and more powerful work
of God in our hearts, cities and world. We should now be willing for God to use
us more or in new ways. We should have more of God’s heart for the lost and
hurting people. We should be expecting an increase in the manifestation of
God’s presence and power. The 90 Days of Blessing are about walking in the very
things we just prayed for.
Update on the Lakeland Healing
Revival
The
Lakeland Healing Revival with Todd Bentley is still going on. It moved from
Ignited Church to a larger church, then to the 7000 seat Lakeland Civic Center
and sometimes the Lakeland baseball stadium with crowds of over 10,000 people. Every
single night many people are healed of all kinds of sicknesses. Multitudes have
been saved and many have been delivered of various things. The anointing on the
meetings seems to be increasing with notable miracles becoming the norm.
Totally deaf people are hearing - not just one or two, but many. Terminally ill
cancer patients are being healed. Tumors are disappearing. Legs are lengthening
– one as much as six inches. Believe it or not, there are reports of four
people being raised from the dead after prayer by attendees of the revival. To
be balanced I must say that I have received some e-mails identifying some
questionable doctrines that Todd Bentley has on his web site and that he
preaches. However, even most of his detractors agree that this is a powerful
move of God. You can check it out for yourself on GodTV
(us.god.tv) and the Ignited Church web site (www.ignitedchurch.com) from 7:00 p.m.
until 11:00 or sometimes hours later each and every night. People are calling in
and e-mailing that they are being healed as they participate from their homes.
Todd says the meetings will continue until God says to stop and GodTV will continue to broadcast them as long as God keeps
providing the funds to do so. For the latest information on the location of the

They are scheduled to be at the Lakeland Center (701 West Lime St., Lakeland)
now through May 25th.

AMENDMENT MAIL
THOUSANDS OF PETITION SIGNERS DISHONEST
AND FACTUALLY INCORRECT LETTERS
(ORLANDO, FL) - Yes2Marriage.org has learned that the group opposing the
Florida Marriage Protection Amendment, Red and Blue, has sent deceptive letters
containing false and misleading information to what appears to be hundreds of
thousands of voters who signed the Florida4Marriage.org petitions. The first of
these letters, which began to be received by voters on Monday, May 12, further
emphasizes the group's strategy to attack Amendment 2 by trying to trick
Floridians and misguide voters instead of debate the policy issue of whether
homosexual marriages are good for Florida.
First, their direct mail piece states "people collecting
petitions are not always honest about the issues they are pushing-especially if
they are being paid by the signature."
This is a deliberate and verifiably false statement. At no time during the collection of marriage
petitions were paid petition gathers used.
100% of the petitions were collected by volunteer citizens in
communities throughout Florida.
Second, their "hit" mail piece further states that
voters were "misinformed" when they signed the petition. That is an
insult to the intelligence of the more than 650,000 Florida voters who signed
the petition knowing full well the importance of marriage to children, families
and the common good of society. Florida
wants the people and not judges deciding this issue. Activist judges
gave Massachusetts the first homosexual marriages-- and judges just this
past year in Iowa, Maryland, and California have tried to do the same.
Adding to the deliberate misrepresentations, the letter goes on to
state that the Amendment will take away rights from "millions of
Floridians." Yet, the Florida
Supreme Court approved the language of the amendment in 2006 and stated in
their opinion: "the voter is merely
being asked to vote on the singular subject of whether the concept of marriage
and the rights and obligations traditionally embodied therein should be limited
to the union of one man and one woman." (Advisory Opinion, Page
3). The fact is that every legal
authority in Florida holds that Amendment 2 does one thing and one thing alone. It defines marriage as the union of a man and
a woman, and it does not affect existing rights in anyway.
One needs only look at the signer of the letter to see
that homosexual activists are behind the so called "Florida Red and
Blue" group. The letter is signed
by Dwain Wall, a board member of Florida Red and Blue. Mr. Wall is also the managing partner of
Bridge Lifestyle Communities in Palm Beach, an exclusively gay and lesbian
residential community.
The leaders of Florida Red and Blue would do a huge service to the
people of Florida if they simply came clean and discussed the real issue
addressed by the amendment - protecting marriage between a man and a
woman. The fact is that they can not
debate the public policy merits of same-sex marriage, because they are afraid
they will lose like they have in the 27 other states which have also protected
marriage in their state constitutions by overwhelming majorities.

The
Visitation
I had a
visitation from the Lord on February 15, 2008. This was one of the most intense
encounters I have ever had. It is difficult for me to clearly communicate this
encounter because of the intensity of the awe of the Lord and the glory of the
Lord that surrounded it. Personally, I am used to being visited with the
affection of the Lord, but this encounter was entirely different. There was no other focus beside Him. This encounter was about FACT, FACT, FACT of who God was. At the core, I was confronted with the pure
worthiness of God and challenged to see Him valued in every arena of life in
the marketplace. I was aware that this
visit was not about anyone except Him!
In this
encounter the fear, awe and magnificence of the Lord came upon me as the room
filled with His presence. As He entered
the room, the fear of the Lord filled the atmosphere. It was as if I was no
longer in the room, but instead was taken to another place. The angelic escort said to me, “It’s all
about Jesus. Not about you, or any of your concerns, it’s all about Jesus.” I
was struck with the revelation that He is all that is to be considered in this
hour. I was instantly aware that this visitation was not about people and
purposes. It was all about Him and our
ability to focus on and reflect His glory. This encounter had five parts that
were progressive and ultimately led to a solution for the value of Jesus to be
restored in the marketplace
FACT
#1: The Supremacy and depth of His All
Consuming Value. The first fact that I
heard and felt through this visitation was that the Lord Himself is “All in
All”. I saw the Lord Jesus standing and
in the palm of His hand everything on the earth was resting. All of the weighty issues of the earth, the
nations, the economy, governments, pre-elections, and terrorism, etc. were held
there. They were all big to me, but so
little to Him. Suddenly all these things
began to shrink until they fit into the palm of His hand. Then I saw every
person on the earth also in His hand. All of their weighty concerns, issues,
tragedies, relationships, decisions, needs, etc. And they too began to shrink
until they all fit into the palm of His hand.
Then I saw the entire universe, the stars and the galaxies, and they too
shrank until they fit into the palm of His hand.
My focus
shifted to angelic criers that were terrifying in their stature. But even they were less than one millionth of
His glory! These angels began to declare
facts about the Lord, but the greatest truth of who He was emanated from
Himself in a way I do not know how to explain. He was the focal point of all
the heavenly realm and I received a totally captivating view of His
all-consuming value and worth. I was
encountering screeching inside and lost my voice outside for a day!
It was
the most consuming feeling, as I stood in His presence, to feel the power of
the Lord and to know that He was the supreme authority on the earth. He just “WAS”… and in His being, all
authority and power belonged to Him. His presence provoked entire submission to
Him. The fact that “He was everything” and was beyond all things that were
created, caused the reverence of the Lord to overcome me. The Lord was
transcendent before my eyes and appeared in a manner beyond description.
FACT
#2: God reveals the Utter Ignorance of
all Human Beings to the Value of Him. I
was then deeply aware that all of humanity lacked understanding and were
totally ignorant of the value of God on earth, His incredible, majestic,
terrifying glory in history in the heavens, in their homes and in the
marketplace. As I experienced this
encounter with the supremacy of the Lord, I had missed my purpose. This was to be the one thing that I was
consumed with – Him! During this
encounter, light, life and holy penetration saturated my spirit. The Lord
repeated over and over to me that He was all that I and the nations needed.
I knew
that we needed to identify with His desires; it was no longer to be about what
we desire, not even about what we could do for Him, but what He desired and the
priorities of His heart. He spoke about a number of my friends who were making
major decisions and said, “They didn’t even ask Me.”
He spoke about people who had walked in their purposes but had never asked Him
what His purpose was. They had been distracted by godly purposes from the
centrality of the person of Jesus and His heart and His desires.
FACT #3:
All of Life is a Test of How We Respond to His Value and His Will. It was clear to me through the intensity of
the encounter, and the thoughts emanating from the angelic criers that all of
life is a test of our response to Him – will we look at our desires and our
circumstances versus Him and His will.
He was beyond fear; He was the fact.
And this life was just the shortest test. These angels said that currently, in our
response to our issues, we had lost the value of Him and placed more value on
our circumstances and our own will. These angels were “seemingly surprised” by
how humans were tripping in a level place, because in reality the tests of this
life weren’t that difficult to them. But, people had magnified their problems
and fears, thus confining themselves to prisons of their own making. They had
done it to themselves. This was the fact that emanated from the presence of God
that He would leave them in their prisons until they responded to Him. It was their choice.
These
“Angelic hosts” were saying the only place of clarity of priorities came from
looking into His face. All of man’s priorities were distorted away from Him
when they did not look into His face and His nature. It was time to take our eyes off ourselves
and set on our eyes upon His glory. Only then, can we pass the tests.
I then
saw three groups of people; the elderly, ministers, and marketplace people. In
each arena, there were tests that gave people the opportunity to respond to the
value of His supreme beauty. If they sought correctly, they would pass the
tests of priority and prostrate themselves before God to gain true wisdom. The
question now became whether or not these leaders would choose to bow low in the
presence of the Lord.
FACT
#4: The calling out of people groups by
the Lord (City leaders, Elderly, the Political Arena, and Ministers).
City
Leaders
The first
group the Lord called out were the “City
Leaders”. This was a corrective call
because it was to correct their course and to cause them to put the appropriate
value on Him and His will. They were not
in the appropriate places asking the appropriate questions. Around them, there was feeling of the total
neglect of the nature of God and a disregard to His leadership. There was such
a lack of interest in the desires and nature of God.
The
Elderly
This is
somewhat out of the ordinary, because in the past the Lord always spoke with
tenderness, concerning the elderly. But in this encounter everything was
different. The Lord took a much different tone toward the elderly in saying
that they had mistaken the test of the importance of their value to Him. He cared for them so well and instead they
allowed themselves to become victims. They missed their responsibility in this
test to sow His nature into children and to keep the connection between the
generations. They had mistaken the value of the time He had allotted to them,
and missed some of the opportunity to be a reflection of Him to their
children’s children. They missed their responsibility in this test to sow His
nature into their children and to keep the connection between the generations.
In His eyes, they had become the ones that owed Him the most, because He had
cared for them so well, but instead they allowed themselves to become victims
in their own minds. He strongly rebuked the elderly lifestyle, saying that they
had become consumers, focused more on what they felt they deserved rather than
what was on His heart for the remaining years of their life.
The
Messengers
Then
Jesus also spoke about ministers. He said His messengers are currently more
concerned with delivery (vehicles) and continuity with their personal messages
as their priority, and had neglected placing value upon His voice. They preached their messages, but never asked
Him what He wanted them to say. Because
their focus was off, they were not able to minister in their cities (their
arenas of life). They needed to refocus on His thoughts to establish their
agendas and their concerns on the direct word of God. We have been so concerned with our accuracy
that we don’t value the ability of God to exceed all human understanding! We seek out wisdom, but refuse to allow God
to reveal Himself in mysteries because we often want everything to be orderly,
structured and explained. We throw out
the mysteries of the Lord and miss the opportunity to piece it together!
The
Political Arena
The
political arena was the next arena addressed by the Lord. I saw the political
arena had a massive wall surrounding it and gatekeepers positioned on the wall.
The Lord said that the fault with the gatekeepers is that they were not asking
Him about His plan for the political arena. Some had a vision from God about
how things were to be, but they were doing it according to man’s methods. This really grieved me because they didn’t
properly value the Lord’s authority. The warning that came forth was, “Woe to
them to act without consulting the Lord and knowing what His purpose is.” If they sought correctly, they would pass
the tests of priority and prostrate themselves as the foot of the mountains to
gain true wisdom.
FACT #5 Then Jesus Spoke to
Marketplace People
Jesus
then addressed the marketplace said that marketplace people had lived selfish
lives and they would suffer lack. He said that they had sowed without
generosity and would reap scarcity. He said marketplace people had become
deists who acknowledged there was God but built without consulting Him. They
did not trust or rely on Him. They had
developed their own purposes, instead of listening and where they had gotten
His heart, they had built in man’s strength. God’s answer to restoring the
value of Jesus in the marketplace was becoming ‘marketplace reformers’ who
lived the Daniel lifestyle (In next month’s article, we will explore this in
depth).
Conclusion: Mandate to Get Prostate
We must
have a completely different way of living our lives – that of taking everything
before Him and considering Him and His desires chiefly. When we experience the terrible beauty of
the Lord, it causes us to realize the value of His heart to a greater
magnitude. As we gaze upon this One, we
connect with His heart and bring forth a completely different mode of prayer –
“Identification Prayer”
– connecting with His heart first and praying from that
understanding. We then would understand
what it means to be a follower of Him.
This would bring greater understanding of what it means to be a follower
of Him, listening to His heart and considering His ways and desires above all
else. We are being called to a mandate
to totally, utterly and uniquely put our mouths in the dust and get prostrate
before the Lord and to consider His ways above all. God wants to establish the Daniel’s in the
land, but currently there next to NO living examples that fully understand the
meaning of this lifestyle. There are many who have concepts, but none with the
true revelation to walk it out.
This year
is to be a year where we satisfy Him with love.
This is the call to “Marketplace Controllers” – people in the
marketplace who try to control their own lives.
Jesus is the fairest of ten-thousand, ten-million, ten-billion! He wants to be recognized! And all of our lives are to be lived to Adore
Him!
After
reading this, we should all fall on our faces and lay prostrate before
Him! All of our other thinking needs to
cease!

The Old Time Gospel Days

I grew up in the day when the gospel was
preached every Sunday and an invitation to invite Christ into your heart was
given. Passionate pleas to surrender to a holy God from prayed-up preachers
were heard in most of America's pulpits. The reality of a hell's fire, prepared
for the devil and his demons, but opened for those who choose a life of
rebellion, put the fear of God in us. Where did the fear of God go in our
nation?
I'm reminded of a powerful evangelist, the late Dr. Percy Ray from
Myrtle, Mississippi. He preached a plain, but simple, powerful message of a
just God who would judge sin. People screamed out and cried for mercy as
Brother Ray preached his message, "The Red Light of Hell." I remember
the impact of this man on me.
The first time I heard him preach was in 1976, in our church in
Dallas, Texas. I will never forget when this robust elderly man preached on
hell one Sunday night. Though I had been born again since 1965, it was as if I
could feel the fire of hell lapping up around my feet. The dramatic Dr. Ray
described the sounds one might hear in hell. With a shrieking voice, he
mimicked the tormented screams of demons, and the desperate cries of lost
souls. "Forever, forever," he screamed with a piercing voice, pacing
back and forth on the stage. The audience was captivated with the reality
of eternal punishment. With tears streaming down his chubby cheeks, he appealed
to us from the throne of heaven to surrender our hearts to Christ. That night
the altar was filled with men and women, boys and girls who received Christ as
their Savior and Lord. But many Christians were also at the altar repenting of
their compromise and immorality. But what constitutes a genuine salvation
experience.
Last year my husband, Eddie and I led over 850 people to Christ
that are faithful members of local churches! So, what
is the revelation for salvation? Genuine salvation requires pre-salvation
illumination; an unveiling of something that's been hidden. It all begins when
light shines in darkness in the following areas.
1. You are a sinner, separated from God. "For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:23).
None of us measure up to God's standards. A deep sadness comes over us to
realize how our personal sin nailed Jesus to the cross. Our acts of rebellion
toward God come to light, and we are grieved to have hurt him. This agony of
truth revealed us to, draws us to repentance and brokenness.
Sadly, the awareness and accountability of sin are missing in many
of America's churches. You can be a drunkard, live immorally, cheat your boss,
and sit comfortably in church on Sunday. This shouldn't be--and the truth is
many churchgoers have never been genuinely converted. If this is you, this
Insight can change your life today.
2. You can't save yourself. "For the wages of sin is death;
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Rom.
6:23). Sin earns wages. The wages of sin earns death. Sin kills everything it
touches. Without Christ, sin separates us from fellowship with God in this
life; and the presence of God for eternity. To die without Christ is eternal
death! Make no mistake-- salvation is a free gift to you, but it cost Jesus
everything.
3. Salvation isn't joining a church, walking an aisle to sign a card or
"being a good and honest person." If these were possible remedies for
sin, we wouldn’t need Jesus' sacrifice. We could
do it ourselves--but we can't. The apostle Paul said, "For by grace you
are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not
of works, lest anyone should boast" (Eph. 2:8-9).
4. Christ is enough for salvation. "But what does it say? 'The Word is near you, even in your mouth and in your
heart'; that is, the Word of faith which we proclaim; because if you confess
the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead,
you shall be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with
the mouth one confesses unto salvation" ( Rom.
10:8-10).
When we recognize we are hopeless and helpless to save ourselves,
and by faith fall on the mercy of Christ, then we receive his gift of
salvation.
Invite Jesus Christ into your heart. For everyone, "whoever
shall call on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Rom 10:13). With a
humble and broken heart, simply invite Jesus Christ into your heart to be your
Lord and Savior. A spiritual transformation occurs in the soul of one who's
been born again. You will never be the same again. You are instantly
transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God. Revelation
floods your soul. Joy fills your heart and peace overflows from within.
Dwight L. Moody made a mistake on October 8, 1871 as he preached
to his largest audience in Chicago. The text had been, "What Will You Do
Then with Jesus Who is Called the Christ?" He
said something he'd never said before and would never say again. Because he was
exhausted after presenting the gospel, Rev. Moody said to the audience,
"Now I will give you a week to think that over. And when we come together
again, you will have opportunity to respond."
Then Ira Sankey began to sing. Even
before he finished the song, you could hear the blare of the siren in the
streets of Chicago as that great fire broke out and left 100,000 homeless.
Hundreds of people died in that fire. And Dwight L. Moody rose to the occasion
a few months later and said, "I would give my right arm before I would
ever give another audience a week to think over the message of the gospel. Some
who heard that night died in the fire." Adapted from Clarence Macartney, Preaching without Notes
I plead with you to evaluate your relationship with Jesus. Are you
"playing a Christian game" rather than knowing for certain that
Christ is alive in you? Question: Could the glory of God be in your life and
you not know it? Impossible. Settle your doubts now.
Ask Christ to reveal your spiritual condition. He will! "In an acceptable
time I heard you, and in a day of salvation, I helped you; Behold, now is the
accepted time. Behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Cor.
6:2).
