PRAY   CENTRAL   FLORIDA

Dear Fellow Prayer Warrior,                                                                           March, 2009

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. OneThing Florida is going to be in Orlando in April this year. Please see “Current Prayer Events” for details. The IHOP Kansas City team has been doing these around the nation for several years. Every one I have been to or seen on-line has been very anointed and God has touched my teenager’s lives each time they have attended. Most of the attendees will be teens and young adults and the music is quite “lively”, but the message is uncompromising and challenging for all ages. The presence of God has always been very strong at these events. Many adults (such as myself) bring their teens and hang out with them. I highly recommend this event.

40 Days for Life – Now through April 5th

40 Days for Life consists of 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, 40 days of constant, peaceful vigil outside abortion centers and Planned Parenthood offices and 40 days of active pro-life community outreach. Visit www.40daysforlife.com for more information including Orlando activities. Our local contact is Juan Carlos Hernandez, 407-592-3625.

Operation Deliverance III – Now through April 3rd

[The following is from Sheriff Demings and Chaplain Commander Pagan] The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain Services Section is asking for your assistance and participation in an event that will unite law enforcement, places of worship and the community in making a difference in our neighborhoods particularly when crime is affecting us all. The event “Operation Deliverance III,” consists of area churches and ministries volunteering at least one hour to pray in a designated area for forty straight days without interruption. All we ask is that you select a day between the dates of February 23- April 3, 2009. For this event we have partnered with the Blanchard Park YMCA located on Rouse Rd. The times will be 6:30-7:30 pm (Mon-Fri) and 2:30- 3:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday. For info contact Miguel Pagan at 407-254-7119 or Miguel.pagan@ocfl.net.

Ongoing Prayer Themes - please include some of these when you pray for the city -

An increase in the manifestation of God’s supernatural power – healings, signs, wonders

Wisdom and blessing for our president and other national, state and local elected officials

God's redemptive purposes to be fulfilled in Central Florida

Pastors to pray together and lead their churches into praying with other churches

(4) Transform Our World Conference in Jacksonville April 15-17

Amazing Saint!

I am delighted to invite you to our North America TRANSFORM OUR WORLD CONFERENCE to be held in Jacksonville, FL, April 15-17, 2009.

Yes, we are living in a crisis, but we also know the end of the story:  we shall overcome. What we need to learn now is how and why. This event is a hands-on, how-to experience led by practitioners, not theoreticians, that will empower you to take the presence and the power of God to your sphere of influence 24/7 and enable you to play your key role in His solutions to the world's dilemmas.

To make possible maximum access - particularly to those that need it the most - the Registration Fee will not be charged if you register by April 1.  After April 1, the regular Registration Fee of $70 will be charged.

In my previous
"Message from Ed Silvoso" memo sent last Friday, I addressed this crisis with a hope-giving scriptural perspective.

First, we must understand that God is allowing the Babylonian world system to be shaken, not His Kingdom. The greed and corruption of its captains stand fully exposed in a context of bewilderment by world rulers desperately looking for a solution that only a miracle can produce.

Second, as a result, this is THE hour of opportunity for God's people to introduce divinely inspired models that world rulers will embrace, not simply out of desperation, but because these models are the best.

Third, many Christians are already doing this with excellent results, some of whose stories we have captured in the powerful
"Transformation in the Marketplace" DVD Series.

Fourth, because we have the solution, we must proactively inspire and empower believers everywhere to bring hope to the hopeless and "to turn the heart of the Nations to God."

The
TRANSFORM OUR WORLD CONFERENCE  will build on these four pillars to thrust you into a vision that is imperishable and to anchor you in a hope that does not disappoint.

I will be joined by top transformational practitioners from around North America - Pastors who are leading transformational congregations; Business people who are building transformation companies; Students who are changing the spiritual climate of classrooms and campuses across the nation; Employees who are walking out a transformational lifestyle that makes today brighter and tomorrow better - ordinary people doing extraordinary things who will inspire you to do the same.

It is no coincidence that we are being hosted by a transformational African American leader who models what I am talking about, who through biblical entrepreneurship has transformed an entire section of Jacksonville.  Bishop Vaughn McLaughlin and the Potter's House Christian Fellowship will be "providing the hardware for our software" to make this a life-changing experience for you and for those in your sphere of influence.

Please
click here to see a promo trailer that will give you a taste of the conference - an experience in transformation - which when over, will become just the beginning of a new transformational journey for you.

The TRANSFORM OUR WORLD CONFERENCE, April 15-17. Save the dates and make  plans to join us at The Potter's House, 5119 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL  32205.
Register now!

PS: This conference is one milestone among other strategic initiatives in the process of amassing a global movement for transformation.  I invite you to consider helping create this movement through our
Fish and Loaves Initiative.

Dear Mr. George Kern,

Hello! My name is Renee Morgan, I am with Resound Missions base. I came across your prayer calendar and wanted to let you know of this event that will be taking place on April 25th. Youth groups from all across the Orlando area are gathering on April 25th to do a 2 hour Walk 4 Life. In this walk we will take our stand in our city and pray that God would end abortion in our city and in our nation. We will have 7 different walks going on, all at the same time, across the city. This gives the churches the opportunity to come together with other churches in their specific region in unity and walk for their area of the city. For detailed information on the meeting points you can visit us at www.resound247.com. I have also attached some information below. Please don't hesitate to call for any questions or any further information. I hope you are having an incredible day and look forward to connecting with you.

Walk4LIFE

Since abortion was legalized in 1973, we have lost over 50 million innocent babies in America...over 200 a week in Orlando alone.  On Saturday, April 25th, 2009, we are calling the churches of Orlando to make a public witness for the ending of abortion by walking in and with their community from 10 am- 12pm.  We will Walk4LIFE!  Churches in each region are gathering together for one cause....LIFE.

Every prayerful step and every penny raised will impact countless families in the Orlando area.  The proceeds from this and future events will help fund organizations that stand for life.  This Walk4LIFE will fund A Safe Harbor Pregnancy Resource Center in Central Orlando.

The church was silent in 1973.  It's time we raise our voice.  Register today.  Speak with your feet!

Subject: Standing in Prayer

·        Greetings Ecclesia of Florida,

·        I wanted to touch base with each of you with a reminding word about our current focus on Florida’s borders and ports.

At the Starting the Year Off Right gathering hosted by Chuck Pierce, the following word was released concerning the borders within our land:

“Apostolic prophetic border teams, border worship teams are now being formed… I AM going to cause leviathan who has held captive boundaries that have resisted My kingdom plan.  I say, you will worship until leviathan rolls over and is defeated at the border.”

Praise at the borders of Florida, praise at the ports, praise over lakes, river, railways, military bases, praise with joy and release a shout into the heavenlies over Florida.  Take new territory, maintain guard over territory that has been secured.  Gather in prayer groups, get a map of Florida and decree life to Florida.  Release the Truth, the works of the Blood of Jesus and the Name of the Jesus across our state.

Stand outside your homes, your churches, the mall, and decree the gates of Florida opened afresh to the King of Glory, the Lord strong and mighty in battle.

Let us make our voices heard in the heavenlies that as the army of the Lord we are not standing still, we are in place on our walls and we’re anointed of our God to do so!  (Remember on our website the East Coast Alliance link has all the areas we are praying over and keys in on Florida as you scroll down)

I have included an article below concerning South Florida’s ports.  It sounds financially good and indeed is but let us remember that Florida’s ports are also host to more sex slave business and illegal guns and drug running than most other U.S. ports.  I have also attached 2 word documents. One giving some stats concerning our state and the second is information from the U.S. Border and Customs Border Protection a division of Homeland Security. Both these documents are valuable in focusing us in prayer, I hope you will avail yourself of them.

Ready to stand, and thoroughly furnished,

·        Exports Up Sharply at South Florida Ports  FRIDAY, FEB. 13, 2009

South Florida's international trade reached an all-time high of $90.2 billion in 2008, up by more than 14% over the previous year, according to U.S. government figures compiled by WorldCity, a Miami-based media company.

Exports for the Miami Customs District, which stretches from Palm Beach County to the Florida Keys, totaled $54.9 billion last year, an increase of 20.8% over 2007, while imports reached $35.3 billion, 5.2% higher than the previous year.

The export figures, while impressive, do not necessarily reflect items manufactured in the state. South Florida is a major transshipment point for goods manufactured elsewhere. South Florida registered an impressive trade surplus in 2008, $19.6 billion, or 65% higher than 2007, and was one of the few districts to end up in positive territory, said Ken Roberts, president and CEO of WorldCity.

This Is What Honor Looks Like

My favorite book of all time is Honor – What Love Looks Like by Fawn Parish.  I got to know Fawn by telephone and email because her book impacted me so much.  The other day I got an email from her.  It said, “Loved friends, I rarely send these kinds of things on, but this made me cry.  I have a new illustration in case I ever teach on honor again. It makes me happy for God, to see Him so well represented.”

I agree.  At a time in our nation when emotions run high and honoring one another is at low ebb, be blessed by this short video (http://blog.christianitytoday.com/ctliveblog/archives/2009/02/bring_out_the_h.html)  about a football coach who understood honor.  Giving honor is one of the most powerful things we can do.

(9) SMS: Miraculous multiplication of meat in Egypt

From: "Joel News International" <info@joelnews.org>

Date: Tue, 24 Feb 2009 20:43:31 +0100

Subject: JN SMS: Miraculous multiplication of meat in Egypt

Dear reader,

Last year Nadine, a German missionary who works with the Coptic church in Egypt, reported about an uncommon miracle. She was part of a team that planned to distribute bags with meat among the poor in a certain district of Alexandria, but they had only half of the meat and bags they needed to provide for every family. Nevertheless they distributed the meat over the bags, one kilogram in every bag, and went on their way.

"When we arrived at the first family and presented the meat bag to them, we noticed that instead of one kilogram, there was 2 kilogram in the bag," Nadine said. "When we checked the other bags, there were some with 1.5 kilogram, others with 2 or 3 kilogram of meat." Something strange was going on, the meat seemed to be multiplying! When they started redistributing the meat over the bags, they realized there were now also more bags then they had brought with them. In the end every family received a full portion of meat, and by the end of the day they couldn't believe there were still 13 bags left in the trunk of their car. "We were so excited about this miracle," Nadine said. "God is so great!"

But the story didn't end here. The team decided to deliver the remaining 13 meat bags to the local Coptic priest. "We called him, and he invited us over for tea," Nadine said. "Afterwards he said we could put the meat in the trunk of his car. While my team mates were loading the meat in his car, I went to the toilet. When I returned, they were still busy carrying bags from one car to the other. I asked what they were doing, as after all there were only 13 bags. The trunk was now so full that they had difficulty closing it. My team members couldn't stop smiling. Later I heard they had loaded 40 meat bags in the priests' car!"

Be blessed and be a blessing!

Florida Family Policy Council: Insiders Report

Opening Day of Legislative Session – March 3, 2009

Dear George*,

The Florida Legislature opened yesterday, Tuesday, March 3, 2009, for its annual sixty day session through Friday, May 1, 2009.   Each week that the legislature is in session, we will be providing our registered** members only this weekly "Insiders Report" update on what is going on behind the scenes with key pro-life and pro-family bills.

While an overwhelming focus will be placed on solving the budget shortfalls caused by the economic recession, there will still be both major opportunities and challenges for pro-life and pro-family causes.  We want to keep you updated as relevant legislation moves forward and alert you when a phone call, email or letter to your elected representatives can make a difference.  The Florida Family Policy Council, and our sister group Florida Family Action, will strategically ask you to take action and write and call lawmakers only when it will make a difference.  Some groups cry wolf with every bad bill filed and waste their supporter's time and energy by asking them to write or call about measures that are either bound to pass or fail.

Nathan Dunn is our Vice President of Public Policy and lives and works year-round in Tallahassee to be your voice, for your values in state government.  Nathan will be constantly researching numerous bills, meeting with legislators and testifying before committees on topics that directly affect the sanctity of human life and the strength of the marriage and family structures.

There are several key bills we are currently monitoring.  They are listed below with an indication of whether we SUPPORT or OPPOSE the bill.

Ultrasound Prior to Abortion - SUPPORT

HB 983 and SB 1854

Bill Sponsors: Rep. Flores and Sen. Gardiner

The bill will require doctors to conduct an ultrasound and give the pregnant mother an option to review the results of the ultrasound prior to the giving consent to abort her baby.  The mother has a right to decline to view the ultrasound images after she is offered an opportunity to view them. The Ultrasound Option measure is a very good bill and it serves women by helping them receive all the available information about the baby in her womb thus giving them the most information before she consents to this life changing and irreversable decision.

Marriage Preparation Act - SUPPORT

HB 1185 and SB 2310

Bill Sponsors: Rep. Plakon and Sen. Storms

This bill is a part of the Strong Marriages Florida campaign we are leading statewide to strengthen marriage and reduce the divorce rate. The bill increases the cost of a marriage license by $100.  But, for couples who get pre-marital education the fee is waived, along with the $32.50 discount already available for those who take a preparation course. This creates a stronger economic incentive for couples to get this valuable training.  The bill also increases the required hours of pre-marital education from 4 to 8 hours of preparation and suggests that a premarital inventory can be used as a part of this education. The funding that does come from the additional fee will be placed in a Marriage Trust Fund (see these companion bills: HB 1187 and SB 2306) and be designated for grants to programs that help strengthen marriage around the state.

Repeal Ban on Homosexual Adoption of Children - OPPOSE

HB 413 and SB 500 (SB 460)

Bill Sponsors : Rep. Brandenburg and Sen. Rich

Homosexual activists have pushed each year to overturn Florida’s restriction on homosexuals adopting children.  This policy is in place to protect children and pursue a permanent placement in a family that is in the best interest of the children – with both a mom and a dad. This year, bills have been filed to repeal the ban on homosexual adoption and a bill has been filed in the Senate (SB 460) which tries a backdoor approach.  SB 460 would allow homosexuals to adopt children only under certain circumstances.

Creation of Domestic Partnerships (Civil Union/ Gay Marriage Bill) - OPPOSE

HB 1067 and SB 1642

Bill Sponsors: Rep. Steinberg and Sen. Sobel

This bill has a title which leads the reader to believe the bill creates a statewide domestic partnership.  However what the bill actually does is try to create a full blown civil union gay marriage arrangement that would be equivalent to marriage.  In other words, homosexual activists are trying to establish gay marriage and call it something else: a domestic partnership.  This bill is plainly unconstitutional due to the fact that Amendment 2 (The Florida Marriage Protection Amendment) passed in Florida last year. Existing domestic partnerships in Florida cities and counties which contain a small bundle of rights are not invalidated by Amendment 2.  However our opponents have crafted this stealth gay marriage bill and called it a domestic partnership.  Look for gay activists to rant and rave that supporters of Amendment 2 were dishonest because the amendment prohibits this “domestic partnership” bill.  This so-called domestic partnership is clearly the “substantial equivalent” of marriage, which is now prohibited in the state constitution.

Sex Education in Public Schools - OPPOSE

HB 265 and SB 220

Bill Sponsors : Rep. Fitzgerald and Sen. Deutch

This bill pushes what is called “comprehensive sex education” upon our young people and requires teaching children about homosexual acts and how to use all of the available contraception devices.  While giving a cursory mention of abstinence, the bill assumes the inevitable sexual involvement of most young people and by doing so the policy will actually encourage sexual experimentation by even younger and younger children.

Seminole Indian Gambling Compact - OPPOSE

The Gambling Compact that Gov. Crist signed with the Seminole Indian Tribe to allow them to have Class III Casino-Style gambling has been ruled illegal by the Supreme Court because the Legislature did not give input and approval.  Now the legislature is studying the compact and the temptation to approve a deal with the Seminoles is all the more enticing because of the economic crisis the state budget is in.  The House has established a Select Committee on Seminole Indian Compact Review (Learn more HERE).  The governor has included revenue from the Compact in his proposed budget for the legislature to consider.  The Senate has indicated an openness to approve a deal with the Indians.  This enormous expansion of gambling would be devastating for Florida’s families and communities. More gambling inevitably leads to increased gambling addictions, bankruptcies, crime and family turmoil.  We will alert you as soon as there is any proposal submitted or other action on this destructive Gambling Compact.

There are a number of other bills that would expand gambling, provide special rights for people who practice homosexuality, and that threaten parental rights.  We will follow these bills closely and will provide more information in future updates.  You can track these bills and others through visiting the "Legislative Updates" tab in the left navigation area of our Website www.FLfamily.org.

(12) Insight: Are You Filled With the Holy Spirit?

Are You Filled

With the Holy Spirit?

Alice Smith

“Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord” (Eph. 5:18-19).

When I was growing up in the small country town of Lake

Jackson, Texas, I would talk on the phone in the hall, and look at the plaque that hung on the wall right inside my parent’s room. The plaque read:

 "A wise ole owl lived in an oak;
The more he saw, the less he spoke,
The less he spoke, the more he heard,
Why can't we be like that ole bird?"

In our Western churches we have mastered the talk about the Spirit-filled life. We have our four steps to be filled with God, five principles of the Spirit-led life, or worse, we argue around the dinner table over doctrinal beliefs of what the Bible says about the subject. You know what? There is too much talk about how to be filled with the Holy Spirit when truthfully, we need to get alone with God and let Him convict us of hypocrisy, and repent and cry out for victory. The Holy Spirit is more than willing to fill a vessel emptied of self. Like my parents plaque, as Christians we need to be like that ole' bird, speak less and listen more to what the Holy Spirit is saying.

The result of the ongoing chaos between denominations, disunity, races, and “pet” beliefs is rendering the American Church IRRELEVANT. Hey friends, as Christians we are ALL ON THE SAME TEAM. The devil is our enemy—not each other! He is out to steal, kill and destroy you, your family, your city, your church and our nation. Do you agree with me the church of Jesus Christ does too much talkie-talkie, and

too little walkie-walkie. It was D.L. Moody who said, "Many Christians talk CREAM and live SKIM MILK."  So what is the answer?

More information is not going to give us a passion for the Son of God. To have "a good teacher" but fail to encounter the power of the Holy Spirit with the information would be a tragedy. To receive a wonderful prophecy for you or your city or nation, is nice, but if we never share our faith with a person who really needs a revelation about Jesus Christ, the crucified Savior--is a tragedy.

What is the evidence that we are filled with the Holy Spirit? The evidence is that we are more like Jesus than we are like our old carnal, worldly selves. All other rhetoric is simply talkie-talkie. The Apostle Paul was right when he said, “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power” (1 Cor. 4:20). Sadly, we are content to live powerless Christian lives, deceived by our opinions of our spiritual status, while Jesus weeps tonight for His bride, who isn’t giving birth to souls. This isn’t about us brothers and sisters, we've been

left on this earth to reach and touch lives.

Last week I was flying home from a long ministry trip and honestly I was ready for a break. The seat beside me was empty until a breathless young teenager told me her seat was beside me. She had run all the way to the gate and had almost missed the plane. After I helped Lara put her bag away, we settled in our seats. Right away I heard the Holy Spirit in my heart say this girl was ready for answers. I introduced myself and we spent a few minutes with small talk. Once the plane took off and the cabin was a little quieter, I asked to know more about her. She explained that she was coming home to Houston for Spring break.

Her parents had sent her to a rehabilitation school in Missouri because “she had been in trouble with the law.” To cut through the details, I told her that we all mess up at times, and even our children had let us down in the past too. But we can have a relationship with a God that washes away all our sin, and gives us a reason to live. Tears welled up and streamed down her face. After a thorough explanation of the gospel I asked this 15-year-old if she wanted to know Jesus. “Yes,” was her reply. There on the plane 30,000 feet in the air, I took Lara’s hand and led this struggling teen to Jesus. She was so happy she could have floated the rest of the way to Houston. I knew there was more to come.

“What was your problem?”

“I’ve been involved in Wiccan worship, and I was also doing drugs and got arrested.”

“Lara, I know you don’t know me, but you need deliverance right now, and I am the right one to help you, because my husband and I have helped set people free for over 37 years. May I help you? She nodded her head yes. Regardless of people all around (even though I don’t believe anyone knew anything was happening), I engaged and commanded the spirits of witchcraft, anti-christ and lies to leave her. Quickly, Lara grabbed her stomach, leaned over and began to groan. I quietly, but firmly commanded the spirits to loose her and never return. About five minutes later, Lara looked up and said, “I can’t believe this. I am free. I feel so good and I know Jesus finally lives in me, and I am free.” I shared further instruction with her on how to grow in Christ.

Her parents had sent their daughter to Christian drug rehab in Missouri, but it took an available vessel (that was me) to bring her to a clear understanding of the gospel. At the baggage claim, I met her mother, who is a Bible teacher, and her older brother, three days from leaving for his first term in Iraq. They instantly knew a transformation had occurred in Lara. A celebration broke out in Baggage Claim, Terminal A in Houston, Texas. I am so glad I heard and obeyed the voice of the Holy Spirit that day.

In closing, a devout Christian woman was once asked how she knew the voice of the Spirit. She answered, “How do you know your husband’s step or your child’s cry from all others? I can't tell you how I know the voice of the Spirit, but it is as real to me as the voice of any other person I know.” If we are “filled with the Spirit” (Eph. 5:18), and “live in the Spirit,” and “walk in the Spirit” (Gal. 5:16,25), we will have an intimate, personal knowledge of the Spirit, as real as that of our dearest loved ones. The result of this infilling will produce the anointing of the Holy Spirit for powerful living. You can be filled with the Holy Spirit today. Are you willing? Are you filled with the Holy Spirit that produces fruit unto righteousness? Think about it today.

(13) “The Crisis of Credit Visualized”

The following is a link to the video “The Crisis of Credit Visualized”. It is a great (and entertaining) explanation about the origins of the current credit crisis. It should also be noted, however, that Democrat regulators from the Clinton years pressured and required the banks to make the riskier loans to increase low income home ownership.
