PRAY   CENTRAL   FLORIDA

Dear Fellow Prayer Warrior,                                                                           April, 2009

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. The National Day of Prayer is Thursday May 7th. We have many local opportunities for prayer on that day, please see below for details. Also, the Global Day of Prayer is May 31st. See the following web sites for details and resources - www.globaldayofprayer.com and www.waymakers.org/index.php?p=gdop. The month of May is “Consecrate Orlando” where we are called upon to consecrate ourselves to the Lord. There is more information in the e-mail and on-line versions of this newsletter and on their web site: www.consecrateorlando.weebly.com. Their web site has a calendar you can check and see the various prayer meetings during the month of May. There is something almost every day so go check it out!

National Day of Prayer Thursday May 7th-

[Taken from www.ndptf.org] The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Our Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America's leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.

Their web page (www.ndptf.org) has lots of resources as well as a searchable database of prayer meetings. The following are from that web site – check it for late additions or changes.

“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you."

I hope you had a great Resurrection weekend, and that you can now turn your attention to participating in the exciting, region wide prayer initiative  ConsecrateOrlando  which will be taking place during the entire month of May, and involving the Body of Christ in seven (7) counties here in Central Florida.

Our Orlando team is contacting others with hearts burning to see the LORD’S PRESENCE  permeate and penetrate our region…

and impact the lives of all those living in Central Florida.   Each congregation / ministry taking part  will uphold this corporate initiative on one of the 31 days in May with a prayer service dedicated to consecration to the Lord and worshipping Him over our region.

Our hope is that you and the readers of your PCF newsletter will participate on behalf of all those they represent here in Central FL…

and that the many congregations and ministries that join us will be blessed by this consecration and worship experience!

Please review the attached info, and let me know what part you would like to play in this!. Blessings!    Maureen    407-810-4665 Cell    Maureen@ruii.org

Let the sound of WORSHIP fill the air, changing the atmosphere in Central Florida!

Setting aside the month of May 2009 to consecrate ourselves and our city to the Lord.

"Then Joshua said to the people,

'Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.'"

(Joshua 3:5, NASB)

·        Recognizing the one true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, is majestic in holiness, awesome in glory and able to work wonders (Exodus 15);

·        Recognizing the seriousness of the times in which we are living and acknowledging our responsibility for the sin that permeates our homes and our neighborhoods (1 John 1:8-9);

·        Recognizing our own inability to address the root issues involved with personal and corporate pride, poverty, violence and racial discrimination;

The Body of Christ in Central Florida is being called to set aside the month of May 2009 to consecrate our lives, our city and the greater Orlando area to the Lord, seeking His face and asking for His mercy and forgiveness as we repent for our individual and corporate sinfulness.

This time of consecration will be marked by corporate prayer and worship that

·        extends across denominational and racial lines;

·        embraces a variety of expressions while maintaining the centrality of the Word;

·        expresses confidence in our God to be the source of eternal hope and healing for our land.

During this time of prayer and worship, we will invite God to invade our lives, making us one in Him, humble, gentle, patient, and able to bear with one another in love (Ephesians 4). We will ask for and trust we will receive new wineskins, to hold the “new wine” that will be poured out into our hearts for this season.  As we celebrate His goodness and honor His faithfulness, we will express our love and gratitude to Him by reaching out to others in our community.

Following the Consecrate|ORLANDO prayer experience in the month of May, we will corporately experience the joy of serving many in our midst who are marginalized, impoverished and hurting in our region.  Participating in the GDOP’s “90 Days of Blessing,” we will encourage existing ministries as well as participate in special Consecrate|ORLANDO service initiatives.

To God be the Glory!

Questions and Answers

Q:  What is at the heart of Consecrate|ORLANDO?

A:  The Holy Spirit is the Author and Finisher of Consecrate|ORLANDO. Under His leadership, a Servant Team of believers with hearts for prayer and a desire to see God exalted in our region will together.facilitate this month long, corporate prayer initiative.

Q: How can I get involved?

A: To learn more, you are welcome to attend one of the special worship and prayer times which will function as models for the services which will be held on each of the 31 days. These will take place on three consecutive Thursdays, April 16th, 23rd and 30th at 7 PM at Centro Cristiano Restauracion (Restoration Christian Center), 1600 N. Chickasaw Trail (off of Hwy 50 / Colonial Drive) in East Orlando.

Consecrate|ORLANDO is committed to cultivating, fostering and nurturing strong cross-denominational relationships in the Body of Christ in our region.  Cross pollinating working teams are being developed that will truly reflect the message of Ephesians 4 as they facilitate those groups hosting each day of the Consecrate|ORLANDO worship schedule.

Q:  What does Consecrate|ORLANDO look like for the month of May?

A:  There will be at least one prayer gathering (sometimes more) each day in May. Each will offer a call for the consecration of ourselves and our city to the Lord, and release corporate worship of God over the Central Florida area..These services will include times of worship, prayer and repentance, and will be of different sizes, components and persuasions, in small or large, little known or well-established places in Central Florida.  On May 31st, Pentecost Sunday / the Global Day of Prayer, there are plans for one large corporate gathering at a central location  (tentatively scheduled for the Orange County Courthouse)..

Q: What about other prayer initiatives in May, such as the National Day of Prayer (NDP) and the Global Day of Prayer (GDOP)?

A: Both NDP and GDOP observances will be incorporated into the Consecrate|ORLANDO master schedule.  At present, we are hosting two events on the May 7th National Day of Prayer.  The first, at 7:00 AM, is the Central Florida Mayors Prayer Breakfast, in the Ballroom at Church Street. (Tickets:: http://mayorsprayerbreakfast.org)  The second, at 7 PM, is at Centro Cristiano Restauracion (Restoration Christian Center). This is open to all.  There will also be a large corporate gathering on May 31st , the Global Day of Prayer (Pentecost Sunday).  .

Q:  Can we partner with another congregation to cover one of the days in prayer together?

A: Yes! Exalt the name of Jesus together!  As long as the focus of consecration is upheld and God is worshipped over Orlando and Central Florida, the possibilities for cooperation in this are endless

Q:  Is there someone I should tell about our plans?  Is there a Consecrate|ORLANDO communications network?

A:  Members of the Servant Team for Consecrate|ORLANDO are facilitating  communications!  If that is where your gifting lies, come join us!  We are also connecting through Facebook. Our  group” Is Consecrate|ORLANDO. [Editors note: their web site is www.consecrateorlando.weebly.com]

Q:  What resources are available to help us in our planning?

A:  If you’re sensing that God is calling you to participate in Consecrate|ORLANDO, please contact one of the Servant Team listed at the bottom of this sheet.  You are also encouraged to visit the websites for the National Day of Prayer (http://www.ndptf.org/) and the Global Day of Prayer (http://www.globaldayofprayer.com/ ).  Both have a variety of useful material which can be adapted for your use.

Q:  You mentioned a follow-up time of service to the community. What will that look like?

A:  As the final part of the GDOP initiative, members of the 21st century Church are encouraged to follow the example of the early Church in the book of Acts by going into their local communities to bless them, thus the name “90 Days of Blessing.” Consecrate|ORLANDO participants are encouraged to take partin the “90 Days of Blessing” from June 1st – August 29th.

There will be a suggested list of existing ministries that need additional support throughout the summer months. We are also planning special Consecrate|ORLANDO service events.  Facilitating participation in these events is yet another opportunity for those assisting in Consecrate|ORLANDO leadership team.

Q:  I’d like to know more   Is there someone I can contact for additional information?

A:  Yes!  Feel free to contact any of the following individuals on the Servant Team:

Tomas Lares       321-604-1441           Nancy Schneider    407-341-1191

Milton Monell        407-826-2691           Maureen Bravo     407-810-4665

If the Lord is calling you to participate by upholding one of the 31 days:

  • Select an open day from the master calendar and choose the time for your gathering
  • When planning your gathering, ask God to direct you as you search both His heart and His Word for  the scriptures He wants you to focus on during your time of consecration
  • Use whichever prayer model works best for you.  Example: “ACTS “ - A (Adoration),   C (Confession),     T (Thanksgiving) and S (Supplication)
  • During the worship segments, praise God with songs that place the focus on Him and His attributes (Who He is, His amazing love, et al). This will facilitate the participants entering into His Presence and encourage them to respond to the call to consecrate their lives to Him!
  • Set aside a specific time in the service during which the call for consecration goes forth to those who are present, and n behalf of their families, friends, and others in Greater Orlando and Central Florida
  • Move from the time of consecration back into worship, calling on those gathered to begin worshipping God over their lives, their families, their congregations, neighborhoods, workplaces, the city, and on out out over all of Central Florida!
  • Members of ConsecrateORLANDO’s servant team are available to come alongside your team, providing support in planning, and to help on site with the prayer and worship segments of your gathering
  •  ConsecrateORLANDO is a corporate call to the entire Body of Christ in Central Florida. We will be  cross-pollinating” and strongly encourage you to attend at least one other worship gathering, in addition to the one you will be facilitating.  It is through sharing these types of experiences that we are enabled to live out the Word of God in Ephesians 4.
  • There will be many different congregations and diverse ministries from across the Body of Christ participating in ConsecrateORLANDO.  While appreciating both our uniqueness and diversity in the many expressions of our Christian faith, at times, some of us might feel a bit stretched in our comfort zones. Should that occur, remember Ephesians 4… let us make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.  There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
  • One of the ways ConsecrateORLANDO is being promoted is through our Facebook group. We also encourage you to utilize your regular communications networks, such as church website, e-mail lists, and printed bulletins to get the word out, inviting participation by those living in your part of the city.
  • These members of the ConsecrateORLANDO servant team are available to you at any time, to pray with you, answer questions and provide guidance.  Please don’t hesitate to call any one of them.

(4) National 40 Days for Life Campaign Sees Abortion Centers Temporarily Closing

National 40 Days for Life Campaign Sees Abortion Centers Temporarily Closing
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) --
For abortion center staff who don't want to face the prospect of going to work with dozens of pro-life advocates outside their facility, temporarily closing is the next best thing. That's what two abortion centers in Austin, Texas and Jacksonville, Florida have done in the face of community opposition. "I've heard from numerous 40 Days for Life vigil coordinators that on certain days, every one of the abortion center's patients left without having an abortion," 40 Days director Shawn Carney told LifeNews.com. How does he know the abortions didn't take place? "Because the clinic was closed. Locked tight -- nobody home," he said. A pro-life advocate named Pat reports that as many as 50 people are praying and educating people outside a Planned Parenthood abortion business in Jacksonville. When they see the pro-life advocates at the center, women considering an abortion decide otherwise. "Many cars will drive in, make a U-turn -- and keep going out," she said. Carney comments: "Because of the pro-life presence at Planned Parenthood, these women went someplace else -- a pro-life pregnancy center -- where they saw ultrasound images of their children and chose life for their babies instead of abortion." (5) Contending for the Atmosphere

Contending for the Atmosphere

by Kimberly Johnson

America is in a time of turmoil.  We, the saints of God, must learn how to be wise in battle in this season.  Our attitude and posture of prayer will determine how we move ahead in the future.  Like many of you, I am distraught by the decisions that are being made in our nation's capital.  In my frustration one morning, I asked the Lord why I was having a hard time coming up with a strategy for prayer.  Here is what He said:

You are concerned about a strategy for a man.
I am concerned about the heart of a nation.

Immediately, I had to repent for having my focus in the wrong place.  I had been duped by the political spirit.  I had become ensnared by it's dissolution and thought I needed to target my arrow of prayer from the ground level.  But God's ways are higher than ours!  He wants us to war from a heavenly perspective.  In the midst of the elections and current media input, many have become engrossed with daily workings of the structure of politics.  We've been shooting from the hip, when He wants to us shoot with an eagle eye.  We need a perspective change.

"Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.  Therefore do not be partakers with them.  For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.  Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord."

-Ephesians 5:6-10

The Lord never called us to be rulers of the world system.  He called us to be ambassadors of His Kingdom.  Therefore, we must have God's perspective to pray effectively.  We must realize that the Kingdom of Heaven is our kingdom.  This means that Father, Son, Holy Ghost and all the myriads of angelic hosts they have at their command are warring with us.  When we pray from heaven's perspective we release a force greater than any political system into the earthly realm.  God deals with the sons of disobedience, while you are called to walk as a child of light.  Lord, give us eyes to see and understanding to partner with You!

I want to challenge you today to contend for the atmosphere in America.  The Church is to be a light in the midst of darkness.  As kingdoms clash, we must stand firm in knowing our kingdom prevails.  Ask the Lord to show you His concerns about the heart of America.  Ask Him how He wants you to affect the heart of your nation.

On the wall of America,

Kim Johnson

(6) Global Day of Prayer – May 31st

[From www.waymakers.org]

Following the example of the first believers who "joined together

constantly" in prayer (Acts 1:14) until the outpouring of the Holy

Spirit, the Global Day of Prayer is calling Christians from all

nations to unite in prayer. A simple threefold strategy will be

implemented each year until 2010 and "BEYOND":

Ten Days of day-and-night prayer from Ascension day until the

Saturday before Pentecost Sunday.

A Global Day of Prayer on Pentecost Sunday, May 31, 2009

The Global Day of Prayer is a call to united prayer. The 10 Days

preceding the Global Day of Prayer creates an excellent opportunity

to unite in prayer with millions around the globe, based on Acts 1

and 2. The 10 Days helps us to gradually build a lifestyle of prayer

in our communities, as well as to focus our prayers more widely than

our personal and national needs as we pray with millions during this

time.

Ten Days provides an excellent opportunity to involve youth and

children. Do include them in your planning and make sure that they

have a prayer responsibility during the 10 Days, be it in a creative

prayer room focused on youth or children or in an integrated prayer

room.

The 10-Day Prayer Guide is merely a guideline and may be adapted to

your specific needs and prayer focus. The resources below will assist

you in saturating your nation and the nations of the world in prayer

as we cry out to God with millions for the His glory to fill the

whole earth and for the fulfillment of His promises.

The 10 Day Prayer Guide provides topical prayer information for each

day leading up to Pentecost.

Any country or region is encouraged to adapt and publish the ten-day

prayer guide in a way that fits their local needs.

English language printed copies of the 10 Day Prayer Guide are

(7) Insider's Report: Week 8 Legislative Session

Insider’s Report: Week Eight

April 20 - April 24, 2009 * Legislative Session, Tallahassee, FL

An Exclusive Report and Analysis
of Legislative Activity for Social Conservatives
By Nathan Dunn, Vice President of Public Policy

Dear George,

Time is running out on the 2009 Legislative Session, with only one week remaining. This week there was both good news and bad news on the gambling front. The Marriage Preparation Act is still alive, but in some jeopardy. And all eyes are still on the budget process. Budget negotiations have gone so slowly that many are now expecting the session to run past May 1st. Or the possibility exists that legislators will have to come back in June to finish the budget in a special session. FFPC President John Stemberger and I have been working diligently behind the scenes to kill bad bills and try and pass good bills.  Here is the update:

GOOD BILLS:

Marriage Preparation Act

HB 1185 by Rep. Plakon (R) and SB 2310 by Sen. Storms (R)

EXPLANATION: This bill provides an optional, additional $100 fee for marriage licenses, but waives that fee if couples complete 8 hours of premarital education. For those that do not prepare and pay the optional fee, that extra $100 goes into a Marriage Education Trust Fund which will provide grants to organizations that help prepare, strengthen and restore marriages around the state.
UPDATE & ANALYSIS: I have had several meetings this week to discuss ways to move the Senate bill along through the process. On Thursday, the bill was withdrawn from the Senate Finance and Tax Committee which is good because it is one less commitee that it needs to pass out of. We will now attempt to have it also withdrawn from the final committee, Health and Human Services Appropriations.  At this point in the session, the bill will have to be removed from the committee and be taken straight to the floor for a vote of the full Senate. The House bill continues to be tied up in the Finance and Tax Council where the Chairwoman Rep. Ellyn Setnor Bogdanoff (R) of Fort Lauderdale has refused to place the bill on the Council’s agenda.  It is possible that leadership could move this bill to the full House and we pray they will do so as the legislation has wide bi-partisan support and is an innovative bill to help strengthen marriages and families.

ACTION: If the bill moves to the floor in the Senate, we may need your help in contacting Senators about the bill. Please stand by, as things may move and change very quickly during the final week of session.

Ultrasound Option Prior to Abortion

HB 983 by Rep. Flores (R) and Rep. Burgin (R) and SB 1854 by Sen. Gardiner (R)

EXPLANATION: This bill will require abortion clinics to conduct an ultrasound and give a woman the option of reviewing the results of the ultrasound prior to consenting to an abortion. It will allow the mother to see her baby within the womb and make this irreversible and life changing decision based on all available information.

UPDATE & ANALYSIS: Sadly, this bill is essentially dead now for this session. Unfortunately the Senate bill was not heard in its first committee.  We made several attempts to request that Senate President Jeff Atwater (R) and other Senate leaders make the bill a priority, but no action was taken.  Although the House bill passed its first committee, the process stalled to a halt when it became apparent that the Senate bill was not moving. We will continue working with legislators after session to try to get this bill in a position to pass next session.

ACTION: No action is needed.

     Pro-Life Issues in the Budget

HB 5001, HB 5101 and SB 2600 Appropriations Bills

UPDATE & ANALYSIS: Good News!  In last week’s report, I described how there were attempts in the House to remove budget provisions that prohibit destructive human embryonic stem cell research and that provide critical funding to Crisis Pregnancy Centers. These bad amendments failed. However, the Senate appropriations bill does not include these provisions at this time. The two chambers will meet in conference soon to work out the differences between the two budgets, so we will be encouraging the Senate to accept these items from the House version.

BAD BILLS:

Seminole Indian Gambling Compact and Gambling Expansion

SB 788 and SB 836 by Sen. Jones (R) and HB 7129 and HB 7145 by Select Committee on Seminole Indian Compact Review and Rep. Galvano (R)

EXPLANATION: The Gambling Compact that Gov. Charlie Crist signed with the Seminole Indian Tribe to expand gambling by allowing the tribe to have Class III Casino games has been ruled void by the Supreme Court because the Legislature did not give input and approval. Now both the House and the Senate have put forward their own versions of what the compact should look like. The temptation to approve a deal with the Indians is all the more enticing because of the economic crisis the state budget is in.  Both chambers have also proposed bills to expand casino gambling at existing pari-mutuels (horse and dog racetracks) to help them compete economically with the Seminole facilities.  Gambling is bad public policy because the government is preying upon the weaknesses of Florida’s citizens for profit.  The allure of gambling is like crack cocaine for both polictians and the poor and we need to fight this historical expansion of this life destroying activity.

UPDATE & ANALYSIS: Tuesday, the House voted on SB 788 (Indian Gambling Compact) and HB 7145 (Pari-Mutuel Casino Industry Expansion). The bad news is that unfortunately, both gambling bills passed. SB 788 passed 83 yeas to 28 nays and HB 7145 passed 83 yeas and 33 nays. You can see how your particular State Representative voted HERE (SB 788) and HERE (HB 7145). The good news is that 27 House members (both Republican and even some Democrats) stood for principle and voted their conscience and against the Republican leadership on both bad bills.  These two bills are now sent to the Senate to await action. Rep. James Bush III (D), a freshman State Representative from Miami, demonstrated courage and principled leadership by voting against both gambling expansion bills (he was one of only three Democrats to vote against the bills, with the other two being Rep. Debbie Boyd (D) and Rep. Leonard Bembry (D)). I asked Rep. Bush to take a picture with me outside of the House Chamber because we wanted to thank him for his good votes. The big disappointment was that so many Republicans who has traditionally voted against gambling expansion, decided to vote “yes” on one or both of these bad bills. The Senate has not yet brought up SB 836 (Pari-Mutuel Casino Industry Expansion) on the floor and may instead amend the House bill with some of the additional casino games from SB 836. Eventually, the two chambers will meet in conference to try to work out the differences in the bills. Meanwhile, on Thursday, Gov. Crist revealed a new unbelievably bad negotiated deal with the Seminole Tribe that would have the Indians providing a $1.1 billion loan to the state over the next two years that would deny the state any gambling revenue in year three and cost the state interest. Senate and House leaders have expressed initial displeasure with this new proposal coming from the Governor’s office.

ACTION: Thank you for those who participated in the Action Alert earlier this week. We need to keep the pressure on the legislators to do the right thing and reject this massive gambling expansion.

Hello friends,

Greetings and blessings Ecclesia* of Florida,

On Thursday of this week several of us went to the city of Weeki Wachee in Hernando County.  Our prayer focus was the waters of Weeki Wachee Springs and river.

The Seminole Indians named the spring “Weeki Wachee,” which means “little spring” or “winding river.” Each day, more than 117 million gallons of clear, fresh 72-degree water bubbles up out of subterranean caverns, the spring is so deep that the bottom has never been secured . Deep in the spring, the surge of the current is so strong that it can knock a scuba diver’s mask off. The basin of the spring is 100 feet wide with limestone sides and the river travels 12 miles empting out into the Gulf of Mexico.

We released blessings over the waters of the river as we strolled its course on their River Boat Cruise. We sat through a portion of the “mermaid” show so as to view and pray over the spring itself.

We were all in agreement that the mermaids strongly pale in comparison to the splendor and majesty of God’s waters, trees and flowers and a multitude of magnificent wildlife around the park.

I was struck by these verses from Psalms while there;

“Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms.  For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.  In His hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is His also.  The sea is His, and He made it: and His hands formed the dry land.  O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.”                                                                                                        Psalm 95:2-6

Holy Spirit reminded us that Father isn’t looking for a form of “religious procedure” in praying over Florida’s waters.  He is calling us to remind the heavenlies that it is He who owns Florida’s waters. He wants us to see the evidence of His glory in the midst of His creation and honor it.

As we spoke one Scripture, another would come to mind.  Each Scripture prompting yet another and passion and revelation for God’s creation to meet with redemption increased in our hearts.

Weeki Wachee Springs is kept very clean and is well tended to because it has been made a “tourist attraction”.  However, in traveling and praying over various waters in Florida many of them are overtaken with garbage and neglect.  How grievous it is to realize our abuse/our sin against God’s creation.

I have attached a document in which we addressed the sins we have taken to our waters.  As you pray blessings over your chosen waterway consider standing in the gap for the sins that have been perpetrated against it.

[Editor’s note: document is included below - “Defiling the waters”.]

I know that the Father will not arise and contend with the enemy over our waters until we acknowledge with Godly sorrow our sin and ask Him for repentance.  I know the treasures the enemy has stolen from us will not be returned until we bring redemption for our waters.

Again, Holy Spirit says, this is not an aggressive move against Leviathan but a time of humbling ourselves before the Lord, operating in the contrary sprit of Leviathan…pride!

The book of Job gives us a very good picture of this;

“Lay your hand on him; Remember the battle-- Never do it again! Indeed, any hope of overcoming him is false; Shall one not be overwhelmed at the sight of him? No one is so fierce that he would dare stir him up. Who then is able to stand against Me?  Who has preceded Me, that I should pay him? Everything under heaven is Mine.”                                                                                                                                                              Job 41:8-11 NKJV

There are yet many county coasts lines, rivers, and lakes that need someone to stand in prayer over them.  Please consider getting a prayer partner and joining Treasure Hunting Across Florida.

We are going to begin to archive all our communications and information concerning this prayer initiative on our website.  I hope this will keep you informed and build your awareness of God’s passion for His waters.

Defiling the waters:

Piracy - Taking a ship or plane away from the control of those who are legally entitled to it (Florida’s official definition for modern day piracy)

Drug and gun smuggling

Pleasure seeking/Perverted Sex – nudity, homosexuality and not God’s good gift of relaxation

Gambling – casino ships

Illegal Dumping – pesticides, fertilizers, industrial waste, etc.

Idolatry – Buddhist and Hindus taking their gods into the waters to purify them, New Age drumming on our shorelines, etc.

Water waste –domestic and industrial – poor stewardship of our natural resources

Bloodshed/Murder - Slavery ships, and modern day sex-slave trade, Indian massacres

Power Abuse – Port unions (longshoremen and others), drug cartels, Mafia influence

Human Trafficking – Forced labor and/or sex in any form (Florida has 2nd highest incidence in the US)

As the Lord gave us insight in reviewing these issues of where we’ve taken our sin to the waters, we saw a common thread of greed involved in each one. As 1 Tim. 6:10 says, “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

Love of money means avarice, fond of silver or money [G5365/5366]. Avarice is defined as an excessive or inordinate desire of gain; greediness after wealth; covetousness [www.dictionary.net.]

(10) The entire world is experiencing a "hastened" season

[Editor’s note: this is an excerpt from a long but insightful newsletter.]

"The entire world is experiencing a "hastened" season-quick economic and institutional collapse with warfare, corrective judgments, and realignments."

By Gary Bergel

A look into the prophet Jeremiah's vision of a budding almond rod and a boiling pot gives us a balanced perspective for today. Jeremiah first saw "the rod of an almond tree." The rod indicated affliction and chastening. God was correcting and adjusting His wayward people because of their idolatry. The branch being almond signified a "hastening." In Hebrew, the almond tree is termed "hasty" tree. It is the first to blossom each spring. The Lord told Jeremiah he had seen well: "I will hasten My word to perform it." (Jer 1:11-14 KJV)

Jeremiah also saw "a seething pot" tilted toward the north. The Lord declared He would call families and authorities from the north and set their "thrones" against "the gates of Jerusalem." Such was the orchestration then, so is the end-time orchestration today!

The entire world is experiencing a "hastened" season-quick economic and institutional collapse with warfare, corrective judgments, and realignments. Yet, as this pot boils, God's redemptive prophetic agenda is budding and unfolding quickly: His covenant promises toward Israel are being fulfilled, including the ultimate redemption of the Jewish people; a parallel restoration of Israel and the Church is underway; a proclamation of the gospel to the last of the last unreached people groups is accelerating; a rapid harvest and ingathering of souls is occurring; the bride of Christ is making herself ready for His return.

John Beckett, IFA board chairman, shared that his Web outreach (www.LifesGreatestQuestion.org) recorded 20,000 decisions for Christ in January! Many who responded asked for teaching in Farsi, the language of Iran. So, while Israel and the world watch the buildup of a nuclear threat from Iran-the pot boiling in the north-Iranians are coming to know Jesus, Isa, as Messiah-the rod is blossoming and bearing fruit! This is a wonderful illustration of the hinged, simultaneous "almond and pot" unfolding of God's prophetic word and redemptive purposes.

While I see and believe in multi-generational redemption and transformation through Christ, ultimately, there is no permanent political, financial, institutional, or even family fix this side of eternity. There is only flux, seasons in time and in the life of nations which take all forward unto God's final kingdom fix-Christ's consummating return and eternal reign. (Lk 1:33) This biblical reality, in the midst of chaotic events and gloom, imparts steady vision and hope.

This is why I believe the apostle Peter so strongly admonished believers to fix their eyes in a primary way upon Christ, "the prophetic word confirmed." He exhorted that we "heed [this truth] as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in [our] hearts...." (2 Pet 1:19; Heb 12:2) God's primary prophetic kingdom agenda centers upon Christ and radiates forth from His finished work and majesty.

When angry over lies and evil abounding, when perplexed and troubled, let us pause in prayer and in the Word-for it is there that we experience afresh all the promises of God, His kingdom seeds, that are ours today in and through the merits of Jesus. (2 Cor 1:20, 7:1) These sure promises are the buds on His ever-green almond branch which bloom and bear fruit in our hearts and lives, regardless of the politics and boiling pot we face.

"In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (Jn 16:33) "Do not fear little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." (Lk 12:32)

Subject: Presdient Barack Obama's Pro-Abortion Record - 26 Decisions and Counting

Dear LifeNews.com Friend,

The following is a compilation of bill signings, speeches, appointments and other actions that President Barack Obama has engaged in that have promoted abortion before and during his presidency. While Obama has promised to reduce abortions, and some of his supporters believe that will happen, this long list proves his only agenda is promoting more abortions.

While Obama has appointed numerous other abortion advocates to key positions, LieNews.com has only included the appointments that pertain to policies on abortion.

You can find this complete listing online at LifeNews.com at http://www.lifenews.com/obamaabortionrecord.html

Post-Election / Pre-Inauguration

November 5, 2008 - Obama selects pro-abortion Rep. Rahm Emanuel as his White House Chief of Staff. Emanuel has a 0% pro-life voting record according to National Right to Life.

November 19, 2008 - Obama picks pro-abortion former Sen. Tom Daschle as his Health and Human Services Secretary. Daschle has a long pro-abortion voting record according to National Right to Life.

November 20, 2008 - Obama chooses former NARAL legal director Dawn Johnsen to serve as a member of his Department of Justice Review Team. Later, he finalizes her appointment as the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Legal Counsel in the Obama administration.

November 24, 2008 - Obama appoints Ellen Moran, the former director of the pro-abortion group Emily's List as his White House communications director. Emily's List only supported candidates who favored taxpayer funded abortions and opposed a partial-birth abortion ban.

November 24, 2008 - Obama puts former Emily's List board member Melody Barnes in place as his director of the Domestic Policy Council.

November 30, 2008 - Obama named pro-abortion Sen. Hillary Clinton as the Secretary of State. Clinton has an unblemished pro-abortion voting record and has supported making unlimited abortions an international right.

December 10, 2008 - Obama selects pro-abortion former Clinton administration official Jeanne Lambrew to become the deputy director of the White House Office of Health Reform. Planned Parenthood is "excited" about the selection.

December 10, 2008 - Obama transition team publishes memo from dozens of pro-abortion groups listing their laundry list of pro-abortions actions they want him to take.

Pro-Abortion Presidential Record - 2009

January 5, 2009 - Picks pro-abortion Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine as the chairman of the Democratic Party.

January 6, 2009 - Obama chooses Thomas Perrelli, the lawyer who represented Terri Schiavo’s husband Michael in his efforts to kill his disabled wife, as the third highest attorney in the Justice Department.

January 22, 2009 - Releases statement restating support for Roe v. Wade decision that allowed virtually unlimited abortions and has resulted in at least 50 million abortions since 1973.

January 23, 2009 - Forces taxpayers to fund pro-abortion groups that either promote or perform abortions in other nations. Decison to overturn Mexico City Policy sends part of $457 million to pro-abortion organizations.

January 26, 2009 - Obama nominee for Deputy Secretary of State, James B. Steinberg, tells members of the Senate that taxpayers should be forced to fund abortions. Nominee erroneously says limits on abortion funding are unconstitutional.

January 29, 2009 - President Obama nominates pro-abortion David Ogden as Deputy Attorney General.

February 12, 2009 - Obama nominates pro-abortion Elena Kagan to serve as Solicitor General.
